MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Since the game is now available for everyone, we are starting a new thread. Feel free to ask questions and/or answer some of the questions you might know the answer to.Tags: None -
Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Did anybody's copy come with some kind of manual? This is the very first game I've bought that has had nothing inside other than the disc.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Dynamic Difficulty still has m head spinning.
When I get home tonight, will I essentially be starting on "Beginner" trying to get the system to gauge my ability?
Will my grade stay with me if I play Exhibition first?
Kind of want to dive right in and not dominate early on while the game figures out my initial skill level.
Any impressions on this would be great!Comment

There's a digital manual on the XMB!
No, there is no physical manual; to answer your question.Comment

I think it would be interesting to see how much they saved by not printing any this year.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
There seems to be a lot of concern on sac bunt situations with QC. I posted this view in another thread, but thought it would be worth restating and elaborating some. I view any generated counts in bunt situations as failed attempts.
Bunting in video games, in my opinion, probably have a 99% success rate from a human control perspective. This, however, is so unrealistic. The pitcher coming up with a QC of 2-2 forces a realistic situation that you would rarely see playing the game, but commonly see in real life. Swing away or bunt? It's a frustrating situation to be put into, but a very realistic one. Here's a chart showing sac bunt success rates. It's recently gone back up some, but you're looking at 1 out of 4, 2 out of 5 sac bunts being unsuccessful.
So while you may not like it, it forces realistic situations that you typically don't encounter and it keeps up with the goal of faster gameplay. I would actually argue not to tweak it because it keeps up with the sim aspect of the game.Attached FilesComment

Guys, does Brett gardner finally have his almost shaved head?
He's had the wrong in game hair for a few years now. [tho on picture day a few years ago he came to camp with hair and in all his baseball cards that year he had the dark hair].
he shaved the day after.Comment

Random, but in playoff mode, is it possible to put a AL team against an NL team without it being in the World Series? I was one of the select few that used Rivalry mode a lot to play with buddies

No, unfortunately not. This should be a feature, though, just because of the Brewers and Astros switching leagues. Can't really have an authentic historical postseason if they can't be in their old leagues.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
For the player lock feature has anyone figured a way to set it to where I only see the result play while on defense or just plays I'm involved in like you can in RTTS. I changed the setting in RTTS thinking that it will be the same for the player lock but it's not working.Comment
