Newb questions -'14 version

Two things, really (for now).

Throwing: I am using button throwing. My fielder fields the ball and I press the button corresponding to the base I want to throw to however the player does not throw it MOST of the time. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Next. Stealing: When I press L2 to steal, sometimes my runner steals but most times he doesn't. Again - what the hell am I doing wrong?

On throwing, do you have throw cancel on? If you press the button a 2nd time before he throws, he'll cancel the throw.

With stealing are you using auto baserunning? Because that that is messed up this year.

- Throw canceling is OFF. But throw meter is ON.

- Base Running Interface is set to Default. Should I try Classic (the only other option)?
- Base Running Decisions I have it on Assist. But I also noticed in my sliders that to steal is R2. Not L2. I always thought it was L2.

Update:

I tuned the Fielder Reactions all the way to the right and it improved but not corrected the fielding problem. That glitch has caused me games actually.

Someone mentioned pre-loading the throw. Or loading the throw. What exactly is that?

To effectively throw the ball you want to make sure you queue up the throw, that is, start the button press before you even field it.
