This just happened after Kendrys Morales hit a homerun (picked him up in FA)

Has anyone seen this before? Is it a bug or something they put in the game intentionally as a joke?

That is incredibly weird, and I would definitely go post a bug report at the bug report place. You'll probably want to include that video too.

Maybe he was seeing if he went that way he wouldn't break his leg at home plate.

What's funny is that he turns and starts going the right way just like it was real. That's awesome though! It's seems to be harmless though so I wouldn't report it as a bug.

I think it's one of the "quirks" that they put in the game. If it is a bug, the player sure played it off like he meant to do it - which is saying something about how nicely this game is made.

In 13, I had a guy hit a home run, but he put on the breaks to go back to first, but then he did his usual home run trot.

Then again, it could be a bug - like the time for me Duncan wouldn't get off the field (he was on the infield pretending to take a lead off a base - and he was already out), or the time he stood on home plate...while I was trying to hit and the next man at the plate waiting for the pitch.

I haven't had any of those quirks in MLB14 yet, so thanks for sharing this video

If it isn't a bug it's a great "addition" by SCEA devs. I would like to see more harmless bloopers like this one in sports videogames.

I had a similar home run trot with one of my RTTS players on the PS4. It was a no doubter, he flipped the bat and started his trot to first. When he reached first, he took a right and headed for the dugout. I was laughing pretty hard when he reached the dugout, then watched him turn around and sprint to a point half way between first and second, where he resumed his HR trot as normal.

In my mind I chalked it up to him losing his situational awareness, thought maybe it was caught, and as he got to the dugout, all the guys yelling at him to run the bases.

I also have the PS3 version I play during the week (work out of my home area, so PS4 on weekend), but haven't seen it happen there. Between the two versions I know I've seen over 200 HRs hit, and it only happened the one time, so not a frequent occurrence.

To tell you the truth, I'd like to see it again, made me laugh for quite awhile. Thanks for sharing the video...wish I had saved mine!
