The Show fans,
We understand there's been a long wait between patches and truly appreciate your patience. We want you all to know that we continued to work on improving online stability the day we released.

List of changes in MLB 14 The Show PS3 (1.17) and PS4 (1.12) patches:
-Online Gameplay stability (a lot of changes and improvements):
--General online synching and stability.
--Play results are now consistent on both users machines.
--Fielder synching issues across two users online now fixed.
--Batter desync when batter calls time.
--Balks on balls in the dirt no longer cause hang.
--Ball deflected collision on defensive players now consistent on both user screens.
--Late fielding dives no longer cause the game to hang online.
--Fielding decisions and throws are now consistent on both player screens.
--Late Bunt (and bunts pulled back) and swing attempts now give the same game result
--Check swing improvements to online gameplay
--Challenge of the Week pitcher settings no longer carrying over from any other game mode.
--Timing issues with pausing the game and guess pitching at the same time no longer cause issues.
--Stealing home while batter takes strike 3 for the 3rd out issue fixed.
--Ball 4 resulting in a walk on a wild pitch and trying to advance the runner on first issue fixed.
-Fixed infrequent end of online game crash at closing on-screen-display graphic.
-Fixed rare instance of on-screen bright color/black corruption affecting stadiums and players.
-Fixed very rare corrupted player faces issue. This would show up as dark splotches and patches. This happened in certain player substitutions in Franchise mode Spring Training.
-In Game Options for Camera changes are now saved when reloading the game.
-Road to the Show crash when loading into Batting practice addressed
-At-bat ambient Organ music addressed (wasn't playing when intended)
-Custom Music applied to all players now properly working.
-First HR in a Franchise game issue no longer stating "First Career HR" every time.
-Umpire balls, strikes and 3rd strike audio calls now playing properly and consistently
-With Music Mode on, stealing a base no longer skips the song track.
-Andrelton Simmons face fixed!
-Home Run Derby can now be entered during the install, once the needed assets are loaded.
-Bernie Brewer now seen after a Home Run in Miller Park.
-Addressed Strike Zone size on PS4 that cause ball/strike calls to appear very wrong.
-Analog throw meter difficulty balanced or all levels.
-Fixed issue with repeated jumping near a pop-up causing the runner to take off for the next base.
-All Vault screens should now default to rating (no longer sorted by user name).
-Diamond Dynasty> My Bids fix to prevent a crash when users have more than 500 transactions.
-Online score posting fix to prevent lost online game scores and data.
-Addressed a Login/Boot-up crash that would sometimes occur when logging in during peak hours.
-Fixed Diamond Dynasty "vs cpu" pre-game line-up crash that could happen before proceeding into the game load.
-The Show Live Double Header games now have crowds for both games.
-Diamond Dynasty and The Show Live issue fixed where some players were showing Headley (PS4) and Jeter (PS3) heads on certain players.

It seems like everything patched is in regards to online play. That's disappointing. I never play online - just franchise mode. It's also sad to se the budget issue for PS3 was not addressed. Guess we can officially stop holding our breathe now.

Wow no fix to budget issue or the spring training issue where teams dont sub position players out!

Im shocked they left franchise budget issue broke, definitely lost a ton of respect for these guys this yr unfortunately.

Not usre what shocks me more Lance leaving the Pacers for the Hornets, or SCEA not fixing the budget issue

I was one of the people patiently waiting for the patch, and I understood that it could take a while.

Not fixing the budget issue is COMPLETELY ridiculous, and feels like a huge slap in the face by SCEA. This is the kind of thing EA would do. Wow.

I have said today this patch is them telling PS3 folks to FOAD. We can't even get stuff that's been fixed elsewhere for months. If you want budgets fixed, we'll need $500, please.

But be patient their working on a patch.... Yea Yea.
I ended up buying the ps3 version but then went against my original plan of waiting till next year to get the ps4. After reading reading how great the ps4 version was I bought it.
I should of known better. Imo other than the budget issues in the ps3 version I don't think the ps4 version is worthy of all the smack talk n praise. Don't get me wrong all in all this game has been great through out the years, it's just getting to the point where the things I desire in a game are just being left as is for the most part over the years. Not sure why but franchise has gotten boring to me, the lack of stats and story lines are so serverly lacking.
In the end I listened to the wrong ppl, my fault no doubt but it was a big mistake to have pulled the pin and bought a ps4 so early. Especially since I don't play that many other games besides the show, and even that has been sitting on the shelf lately.... Oh well live n learn as they say.

I want my money back for such a game breaking issue still being present this far into the season. Franchise mode is the only reason I buy sports games, and I can't even do a whole season in this game. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. Thanks to all the game testers and developers.

Disappointed the Franchise budget issue was not addressed. No patch for the Vita, either, which is also frustrating.

It's really weird that they didn't fix it. I hope (in fact I'm sure tbh) there will be another patch in late July/August. I trust these guys at SCEA and I don't want to jump into conspiracy theories.
Anyone tried to reset everything and sim a franchise season from scratch? I haven't been able to test the patch yet.

Reset what? I might try later but I still got the same increases the other day simming.

By reset I mean the use of the official roster and the start of a new franchise. I guess you've tested this way and the budgets problem is still intact.

SCEA has become a joke. They are a bunch of lazy fat cats now like EA and Madden who know they have their core followers and they will keep coming back like a junkie (me included). I love the game and am currently in the midst of an online franchise with a friend and we play 162 games when we do - we have played about 100 games thus far in our seasons.

It is just maddening that they tout all these improvements and then don't deliver on half of them or the ones that really matter to core players who want to do an online franchise. Let's see just a few:

1. Resolve and simulate games on TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)

- Laughable. You can resolve games but not simulate.

2. New user management functionality at TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)

- The website sucks. Hard to navigate, stats are hard to get to and read, I have to go through various screens to get to what I want. I miss the old site.

3. New contract decision logic, which factors in contract renewable and arbitration status more heavily (Online Franchise)

- I haven't gotten here yet but based on the budget issue seems like trash.

The budget is the biggest failure. Honestly I could do without any of the other stuff as long as the budget worked. SCEA gets all this praise from gamers every year but to be honest they really haven't done much to improve the game. This year it seemed the had finally gotten their act together and I was excited for it but in typical SCEA fashion they let me down.
