Thanks to my wife, I just traded my PS3 this afternoon at Gamestop and bought a PS4 for $230.00. You can get $175.00 for the PS3 and I also traded in my extra controller. I think this is good until Wednesday. Just an idea if anyone is on the fence. I thought I was going to have to wait until next year to enjoy The Show on the PS4.

Which PS3 model was it? I have the most recent super slim (500 GB), but when I went to the Gamestop website it said the trade-in value was only $75. Strangely, they don't have the 500 GB super slim model which is what I have.

Wow that is a good deal. Man I just don't know if its worth it I have the Xbox one and if I did get a Ps4 I don't know how many games I would play on it outside of the Show and Uncharted. This definitely makes the decision harder.Comment

PS4's at Gamestop are at least $399 plus tax, so you still have to pay over $225 after this trade in. Still a decent deal. It'd be better if you could get this on a some of the PS4's being sold at other stores for around $300 on sale.Comment

Sadly you need 120 gig and all I gave is 80 gig. I'm waiting for Christmas mark down and then buy '15 PS4 at the used cheaper rate. it will FEEL brand new but I'll save $70ish and still have a PS3I can sell to a friend for cheap!Comment

It's too bad GS doesn't give extra credit for digital games on your PS3. I have a bunch so $175 doesn't seem like enough to me. Plus I would lose the ability to play those games since the PS4 isn't BC. If the PS4 was BC including PS3 digital then it would be a much more tempting offer for me.
I'm going to wait. PS4 hasn't really gotten going yet anyway. I also don't like the fact that streaming services and online play have a paywall now. Also since the PS4 adoption rate has been so huge I've got to think it will hit saturation sooner than later. I expect the price to drop much sooner than the PS3's price did. In fact I think this latest console gen will be shorter than the previous one.
I say wait it out people! Only cheaper prices, better hardware and better games will be in the PS4's future.Have a good one.Comment

I personally went ahead and made the move...
Ps3, 2 extra controllers, and a handful of games (maybe $15 worth) and got a ps4 with the show for about $220.
Happy with that deal, plus still have a few more items to put on EBAY... Should end up around the ~$140 mark when all is said and done with this PS4 deal...
