2015 OSFM: KC Royals

I've done the Royals the past several years, and usually just did it without much input. I haven't seen a lot of complaints, so I assume I haven't done a terrible job

This year, I figure, "what the hell" and will go ahead and post what I intend to do, so that other fans can provide feedback, criticism, questions or praise. So, here goes...

Guys who will be in the game already in BLACK, guys who were in a previous year in RED, guys who I will be creating are in BLUE. This accounts for more than the 90. Also, if I have a guy on here that ends up leaving the org (waived, traded, etc) I will let the new team owner create him

The rating I have listed is their potential. It is typically a range, as I’ll have to play with it just a little as I get the game in hand.

SP
Ventura
Vargas
Volquez
Duffy
Guthrie
Young
Medlen (MLB-DL)
Pino (AAA)
Brian Flynn (AAA…dark horse to make MLB club as a RP)
Aaron Brooks (AAA)
Brandon Finnegan (AAA/AA)
[/color]
Joe Blanton (likely to be released)
Clayton Mortensen (AAA)

Jandel Gustave (Rule V) (66-70)
John Lamb (AAA) (70-74)
Andrew Furgeson (AAA/AA) (65-68)
Kyle Zimmer (AA) (84-88)… if the guy could stay healthly he’s a legit #1-2 starter
Christian Binford (AA) (70-74) have to see how his ratings play out. Gets results better than his “stuff”
Sean Manaea (AA) (84-88)
Miguel Almonte (AA) (78-82)
Jake Junis (A) (76-80)
Glenn Sparkman (A/AA) (70-74)
Jonathan Dziedzic (A) (68-72)
Brian Brickhouse (A) (72-76)
Luke Farrell (A/AA) (66-70)
Crawford Simmons (A/AA) (68-72)
Foster Griffin (A) (80-84)
Scott Blewett (A) (78-82)
Pedro Fernandez (A) (70-76)
Cody Reed (A) (68-72)

RP/CP
Holland
Davis
Hochevar (possibly on DL to start year)
Herrera
Frasor
Collins (likely on DL w/ TJ)
Louis Coleman
Franklin Morales (AAA/MLB)
Joe Paterson (AAA)
Michael Mariot (AAA)
Casey Coleman (AAA)
Ryan Madson (AAA)
Chris Dwyer (AAA)
Brian Broderick (AAA)

Buddy Baumann (AAA) (62-66)
JC Sulbaran (AAA/AA) (64-69) (could be a SP)
Reid Redman (AA) (64-68)
Sam Selman (AA) (68-72)
Angel Baez (AA) (68-72)
Scott Alexander (AA) (68-72)
Andrew Triggs (AA) (65-69)
Malcom Culver (AA) (65-69)

C
Perez
Erik Kratz
JC Boscan (AAA)
Francisco Pena (AAA) (66-70)
Parker Morin (AA) (60-64)
Cam Gallagher (AA/A) (68-72)
Zane Evans (A/AA) (68-72)
Chase Vallot (A) (78-84)

1B
Hosmer
Morales
Casey Kotchman (AAA)
Matt Fields (AAA) (65-67)
Mark Threlkeld (AA) (58-64)
Cody Stubbs (AA/A) (62-68)
Samir Duenez (A) (72-78)… he’s a long way away, so may not make it. Potential may be high, but OVR will be low

2B
Infante
Colon
Whit Merrifeld (AAA) (66-69)…actually more of an OFer, but putting him at 2B with OF secondary works better
Justin Trapp (AA) (64-69)
Angel Franco (AA) (60-64)
Ramon Torres (A/AA) (66-70)

3B
Moustakas
Ryan Roberts (AAA…could make MLB as 25th man)
Cheslor Cuthbert (AAA) (68-74)

Michael Antonio (A/AA) (64-69)

SS
Escobar
Ryan Jackson (AAA)
Gabriel Noriega (AAA) (64-69)
Orlando Calixte (AA/AAA) (68-72)
Raul Mondesi (A/AA) (84-90)
Jack Lopez (A/AA) (60-66)
Humberto Arteaga (A) (58-62)
Marten Gasparini (A) (74-82)…probably won’t make it in, as he’s only 17

LF
Gordon
Moises Sierra (AAA/MLB)
Terrance Gore (AA)
Reymond Fuentes (AAA/MLB)
Brian Fletcher (AAA) (60-66)
Ethan Chapman (AA) (58-62)
Daniel Rockett (A/AA) (62-68)
Alexis Rivera (A) (72-76)

CF
Cain
Dyson
Lane Adams (AAA)
Brett Eibner (AAA) (68-72)
Bubba Starling (AA) (70-74)…hardest guy for me to rate. He has 3 GREAT tools, and 1 MISERABLE one. He’ll likely either figure it out and become a good major league player, or never get past AA. I’m putting his potential as a low-mid C, but that will likely never be the case. In real life, he’ll either get to an 80 rating or never above a 60.
Dominique Taylor (AA/A) (66-72)

RF
Rios
Paulo Orlando (AAA) (64-70)
Jorge Bonifacio (AA) (72-78)
Elier Hernandez (A) (72-78)
Ryan O’Hearn (A) (67-72)

Re: 2015 OSFM: KC Royals

Looking pretty good. A few things though-

Cheslor Cuthbert was playing 2B with Omaha last year

Francisco Pena is in the game already.

May I suggest visiting out the NWA and Omaha's website and checking out their rosters. They show some of the minor league signings that many people don't know about. eg. SS Dusty Coleman playing for the NWA Naturals (AA).

Cuthbert only played 3B/1B for Omaha. Dusty Coleman, Mike Bianucci, and Anderson De La Rosa are three minor league signings that you'll want to account for. I created both Coleman and Bianucci last year in the hybrid roster if you want to copy them over.

Yes, Cuthbert is moving to 2B.

I was commenting on the fact he didn't play 2B at Omaha last year.

Re: 2015 OSFM: KC Royals

Good catch on some of those minor league FA, although it won't shock me if those guys end up released before season starts.

Cuthbert has been tested a little at 2B, but he's a 3B. He's played there and 1B exclusively this spring. I'll give him 2B as a secondary position, but his true position is 3B

On Pena, I wasn't 100% sure if he'd be in, as he never got a plate appearance last year. Hope he is, as that's one less guy to do

Thanks for the input
