Which is another reason why my roster has so many 'new players' and 'new pitchers.' I kinda polices how many actual players retire the first year.
To be honest, I'm stumped. If you work for hours getting your roster just right than you have to live with that first year retirement issue. The only thing I know to do is if you have potential major leaguers retired, then between you'll have to create them by editing one of the A or AA players between the 2015 and 2016 seasons. You're right Bacon96, after the first year you can edit the drafted players but of course that doesn't help set up your 2016 or second year.

If there is someone you are afraid is a potential candidate to retire, then the immediatly following the world series write down their contact & power rating. Then bump it to 99. After the player retire screen is done, fix power & contact rating back.

I have figured it out with 0 players retiring that are real SCEA MLB players.
