    Missing Players in MLB 17

Alright fellas, I've compiled an extensive list of guys that won't be in 17. Basically, if a player was in the minors all year and never got called up then he loses his MLBPA status. Most guys on the 60 day DL will still be in, but in recent years some guys did not make it in for whatever reason. If you see a 50/50 next to a players name it's obvious he has a 50/50 shot of being in or out of MLB 17. As for Free Agents, some of the guys actually played in the Majors last season, but have since left to play in Japan, Korea, or Indy ball so keep that in mind. If I missed anyone let me know so I can add it to the list.

Greg Bird will be in as he's expected to be the Yankees first baseman next season. No reason at all to leave him out.

I know that, but guys that spent the entire year on the DL don't always make it in the following year (see Brandon Beachy and Kris Medlen from a few years ago) so that is why he is 50/50.

I can definitely do the four Brewers who could be left out. They'll be in my original OSFM set.

Is the reason Big Papi isnt on the list because he officially retired and the reason Lee is on the list because he's hasnt "officially" retired? I know Lee was in the Show 16 despite missing all of 2015 and not even pitching at all in 2016. Is there any scuttlebutt that Lee will pitch in 2017? If there is, I havent heard of and cant find any rumours that he will come out of "unofficial" retirement in 2017.

Lee hasn't officially retired yet. So that's why he is on the list. He spent the entire 2015 season on the DL that's why he was still in 16.

I'm pretty sure Bird will be in. I've noticed in the past if the players were on DL all season but played like one or 2 rehab games in the minors, almost certain they won't be in. If they didn't play one game in minors, positive they will be in, obviously if they played enough games in the MLB the previous year.

But again they have gotten rid of some players who played quite a bit the previous year.. Randy Choate is a name that comes to mind in MLBTS 16

True, but the last few years guys that spent the entire year on the DL (with no minor league games played) have been removed the following year. Like I stated earlier the 50/50 is a designation just in case they player is removed in 17. See Brandon Beachy and Kris Medlen from 2 years ago. I'm pretty sure Greg Bird will be in as well, but you never know.

I have 3 of the 4 done in that roster I sent you. If you want to mess around with the faces go for it. The only player I didn't do was Eric Sogard and Sean Nolin. Sogard will be out of 17 most likely (he played in the minors last year). Nolin was on the DL all season so he's 50/50.

Alrighty but you are incorrect about Sogard. He was on the 60-day DL for the A's for all of 2016 so I would guess both are 50/50.

Sogard played in 2 minor league games this past season (Advanced A Stockton, which may have been rehab games. Those still count towards games played in the minors.). He's most likely out, but yes 50/50.

Just wanted to say great job! Can't wait to see what the final list will be. This will help tremendously with people like me who want to transfer over our franchises to MLB 17 to replace these missing players.

I would LOVE it if we could get more confirmations on players who may be 50/50.

Tyler Olson of the Indians will be 50/50. He pitched 2.2 inning for the Yankees this year, but did not gain any service time for the 2.2 innings pitched.

Giovanny Urshela is out as well. Cleveland is updated.
