Another thing about Kopech:

He's sitting at 100 today in the first. Sitting at it. Not just sniffing it.

Lawrie is going to be released or claimed. Either way, it opens up a spot for another prospect.

Sox signed Tyler Ladendorf today to a minor league deal. So no prospect yet. Have to wait for some ST cuts.

Yeah plus there was that Dunning signing yesterday. Guys like Liriano, Asche, and W. Garcia can be potentially dfa'd and claimed as well. Also, I would expect Everth to be released before the end of Spring Training.

Yea, there's going to be openings in the set for sure. Leury Garcia, Sanchez, Davidson, and Liriano are all out of options, and I can't see all of them making it through waivers. I agree that Everth is not going to be headed to Charlotte. He'll choose to become a FA. You also now have a logjam in Charlotte's rotation, with Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer, Danish, Holmberg, Volstad, and potentially Matzek all slated to start there.

Do you think you will make extra prospects that you can upload to the vault when OSFM is done? It's always nice to be able to release older filler like Swarzak (if he goes to the minors), Volstad, E. Cabrera, Ladendorf, Bourgeois etc in favor of young kids.

I have the following guys spec'd out and ready to replace in the case of any upcoming releases:

Brett Austin, Brandon Brennan, Robinson Leyer, Terence Marin, El'Hajj Muhammad, & Colton Turner

I still plan on trying to get these guys at some point as additional replacements:

Aaron Bummer, Nick Basto, Luis Curbelo, Brandon Dulin, Bernardo Flores, Jace Fry, Luis Martinez, Amado Nunez, Zach Thompson, Blair Walters, Andre Wheeler, Connor Walsh, & Conor Krauss

Problem is you won't necessarily get more legit prospects in the case of filler. Charlotte needs to be 99% accurate, with Birmingham not being made up of mostly 19-20 yr. olds. Plus there's a few guys are are really quite hard to judge based on their level and lack of statistics so they don't translate too well. Luis Curbelo and his Rk level .226 average is not going to be a pretty sight in this game. I'll still get something rated, but with faces needing to pretty much be redone this year, I wouldn't count on too many guys initially.

Found out the White Sox have a no facial hair policy for all minor leaguers. I do not plan on removing facial hair from everyone, as realistically these guys will just grow it back as they get called up.
