The Official 1996, 1997, and 1998 Roster Project

Guys, it's done.

Every single thing is done except the free agents.

There is about 55-60 to add but then that's it.

Guys who were drafted and opted for college and didn't sign or play until years later will be free agents along with foreign players.

Guys drafted in 98 but didn't play until 99 will be members of the AAA team but not make the 40 man.

Guys drafted by a team in 99 or one in 98, but signed with another in 99 and played in 99 will make thr AAA and AA rosters. This is so guys like Barry Zito who were drafted by Texas in 98 and Oakland in 99 (played in 99 for Oak) are with their most known teams when Franchise starts, although they won't make the 40 man so it's not overloaded.

Will keep grinding, everything is in the home stretch.

And in 18 now with the Expos and all the new uniforms and updated minor league stadiums these are really going to pop.

One of the nicest "little things" for accuracy in this set is how many guys were just 18 when 1998 rolled around. Very, very few players are 17 and even way fewer (like 2, maybe) are 16.

Anyway, working relentlessly. Will make another update tonight when I'm finished.

Alright boys, I was done last night again but did my final run through and found 16 new players to add, all big names like Fukudome and young man Bobby Jenks! There should be over a 100 players added to the completed project now alone.
