So many small changes but many large impacts/better visuals than past verions. A few bigger-than-small changes, or at least I consider to be, end up helping Florida. Quilvio Veras goes from 83 speed to 87, Edgar Renteria goes from 77 to 85 in speed, and Luis Castillo hits 91 up from 88. Veras heads to San Diego eventually in the set but for a year in 96 Florida has two Rookies (Castillo, Renteria) and a Sophomore (Veras) who can lightup the basepaths. They were a little cheated in the speed category, as well as a small few others, so they got a bump. Same with a few fielders as well. Feel comfortable calling these the final build.
i thought you really nailed ratings "out of the box" in previous versions but naturally the more you/we play, the closer we can get to accuracy and realism, and so im really psyched for this re-tuned and polished rosters.

So since 1992 is taken, I think I'm going to do 1969. That way i can include the Padres and Expos. So that we can play with only a few teams completed, I'm going to base them off of Pittbucs08's 1971 rosters. Any teams anyone wants done first in particular?

Herschie, The just recently uploaded 1969 Roster set in MLB The Show 17 by Ebpmd (psn gertie68?) could easily be ported over to MLB The Show 18 as your base. It is a very nice roster set.

Thanks man, they did feel good yeah. I think my understanding of the ratings scale evolved over time as well, kind of like for 2014 when I made these with lower fielding to adjust for gameplay.

The changes are good I believe though, especially the aesthetic ones. A good example is 1996 A-Rod. Dude hit .358 over a full season. In the sake of handed disparity the calculator gave him 99 in contact obviously, so I rated him 99 vs L and 90 vs R. Dumb right? Anyone, especially A-Rod who hits .358 in a season is 99'd out in that category, right?

Now reserve/average players who had like 130 AB's in a season with a career Avg of like .245 but hit .335 in 45 games may get a 94 vs one side but only an 78-83 on the other side depending on some factors.

And the speed increases/decreases make some big changes as well. I hate fixing things that aren't broken (at least in my mind) but these should all be good edits my friend. We'll see what you think soon

Edit: Forgot to add how much of a difference pitch clutch seems to be making. Doesn't change overall ratings too much (stamina does) but changes the game a lot. Dudes who had a 6.24 ERA will be more prone to playing like a dude with a 6.24 ERA. And a guy with 40 HR's will play like a guy who hits 40 HR's. That's what is cool about the edits. It was both the early and prime era of the long ball, and by God it should feel like it.

And that was 90s baseball, everyone likes to call it there steroid era, but I like to call it the love of the game. Everything you explained you seen put out on the field, now there's nothing but cry babies on the field of sports all around, demanding what they (wont) do.

Instead of asking what they can do to help there team. That's what made basketball, baseball and football to me so awesome in the 90s vs today's style.

Appreciate the work bro.

Re: List of Classic Seasons & Historical Specialty Rosters MLB The Show

hi guys, new here. Can someone tell me how I download a roster of legends and start a franchise with them? Can I put them on different teams? Do they do like fantasy draft like way you can do that or do you have to manually move/trade players yourself to your favorite teams?

I feel dumb sorry.

Go to Roster Vault and choice the roster
Then select Franchise and select use saved roster

You can move any player to any team as long as you have CPU roster control on

Yes to fantasy

Enjoy!
