It's there. I forgot to designate it as historic.

I believe that once you advance them, you're stuck and can't export them. I don't have any previous experience with franchise mode. Just guessing.

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 17

For those that may be interested, I have currently begun sorting players for an all-time roster that will feature the top 50 guys for each franchise. The MLB level and Triple "A" will have 1st team and 2nd team all-stars respectively for each franchise. The Double "A" and "A" level will be filled with the current 2018 rosters (unless they are on the all-time roster) and some other players on the current 40 man roster. That makes this set ideal for franchise play, and there will be no duplicate players. I'll be building this set on MLB 17 as I haven't migrated to the new title.

I'll be using players I re-rated from all my classic sets, so I'll basically be picking out players from their best seasons for the all-time roster. This also gives a good variety with respect to overall ratings of the players as the rosters will not be filled with a team full of players rated at 90+. I'll also only be using players that were productive during the live ball era.

It'll take a few months at least to complete this, and I'm not setting any timelines at this point. Hopefully, you hung on to your copy of MLB 17 if you are interested in this set. More info will follow as I get deeper into this project.

Now when I say my rosters, I would be remiss not to mention the following roster makers: DrSublime, Biebig2010, doncropper, Knight165, Rwings832, Dallmantor1, lortel7, JohnEKool, Aboti98, sc73ray, Marsl444. baumy300, and pjsnell10. Their efforts helped make my rosters possible with their player likenesses that I incorporated into my sets. I re-rated all rosters using JTommy67's roster building utility along with creating a few of these teams from scratch.

The first decade I'll be porting is Classic Millennium set with the best teams from 2000-2009. Then I'll follow this set up with the best of the 90s, 80s, and finally the 70s.

Below I have listed the teams for the millennium set, and when that is finished, I'll post the next set and so on. All 2017 rosters can be found at the Double "A" level. There will also be a few duplicate players, so if you don't like that, just bring up the 2017 team to avoid that circumstance.

*Note - Uniform Number Workaround
I've only noticed a few uniform numbers that had to be fixed upon my final review of the teams. I won't be re-issuing these for uniform number errors as this can be easily adjusted. So if you need to fix uniform numbers follow this procedure:
1) Make sure no one at the "A" level has the number you need for a player in question.
2) Send the player in question down to "A" that needs the number, reselect the number, and put him back on the MLB roster.
Viola! Just remember if you play season mode, the players will lose the retired numbers, but they will stick in playoff mode (my personal favorite way to play).

This is not sour grapes just an observation of human nature I'm never mentioned as a roster Builder (BigKlu) scooter... yet my players are recycled year after year I stopped submitting my players because guys like biebig we're downloading my 5000 hours worth of work with one push of a button they take credit for my work and others work and they become geniuses.
My latest stuff is out of this world because of my love for baseball and my art Talent and time and effort put into it. I put my heart in my players and they seem to come to life I wish I could share them but I don't get any credit for my Blood Sweat and Tears.
I wish things were different maybe in the future when I submit something it'll have a tag on it that says I created it. I'm sure this is a pet peeve for many of the Great creators that submit their players.

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 17

Scooter,

Seems to me that with the Player Vault as flexible as it is in MLB The Show 18, with all its new sorting capabilities along with its showing the image of each face, your concerns of not receiving due (rightfully earned) credit would be practically eliminated.

I would hope so as you seem to have a lot of dedication to your work and apparently (as you state) have a real talent. Unfortunately, if you don't share your work all those accolades can only be expressed by yourself alone.

Many roster makers, including myself, search for the best looking face available which has been shared by being uploaded by others prior to building their roster sets. Then they rate their players and typically make minor adjustments to better suit their memories of a particular player. Not to do so really reduces the quality of a roster, in my opinion, that is ultimately uploaded to share with others so they can enjoy it too. Many of us give "Credit" to those we have selected individual players from either their Rosters and/or their uploaded individual players. Some do not - but that doesn't mean they aren't appreciative of the work of others they used as a base for their own creation.

To not share the many hours of your work leaves only you to evaluate it's quality. Uploading your individual players to the player vault and/or to the roster vault as a roster allows others to let you know via the # of downloads or the rating (which I find to not be a true representation of ones work) the quality/appreciation of your work.

I truly feel one should be thrilled to see others using their work, regardless of giving open credit or not, as that is the ultimate representation of quality.

But in the end it is completely to-each- his-own how they feel regarding this subject.

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 17

Thank you doncropper.
Great post it's a dilemma for me yes in the past I have gotten great praise but quickly forgotten and those that used my created faces for years get all the good feedback.
It's like too much for me really I put in the time and effort in these legendary players.
I did all the work then someone else takes the credit. It's very discouraging.
There's others that are legitimate and put out a beautiful product and I have a lot of respect for them. I honestly don't know how they do it if they've experienced the same thing I have at least they are ok about it and continue and get recognition and my hat's off to them.
I guess it really got to me once a guy who was kicked off of Operation Sports for taking credit for my work.
I saw him on another website and people are saying bigbee you are the greatest how do you create these amazing faces and his response was well I put in a lot of time and effort. Yeah a lot of time and effort he pushed the button. Then they ask him are you going to do something new and then he said I haven't really had the time to do that lately no the reality was that I stopped putting faces up and he stop downloading them.
It gets in the way of the real reason to have this opportunity of sharing. At this point I can't tolerate this nonsense. Maybe I'll change my feeling towards it I want people to enjoy what I have to offer. We'll see but I appreciate your feedback very much.

Yes Scooter, I do remember you as being a force with player creation and I'm sorry your work became grouped under Biebig as I was not aware of this. I will certainly credit you on the first post (BigKlu) and take his name down. Thanks you for all your efforts in making the classic roster community so vibrant. Peace!
