From what I see, there will be only 40 real players for each team ever for each roster update. Thinking that is why certain players are withheld from rosters and when players are added and others are removed even though there are several "fake" players that could be removed instead. Certain teams are at the 40 man threshold which won't allow a particular player to make the update and if or when they do, they take the place of a real player. It's a bummer knowing that some real players, which might be sent to AAA or AA, are removed entirely from the updates due to the 40 man limit. A few go to free agents but that pool isn't large enough to keep them all so they are removed entirely. Basically, every player that is missing is going to eventually take the place of a real player instead of one in the minors that isn't a real player.

If this is the case, which seems to be, why not make the free agent pool larger and never remove a player from any of the updates? I know there are the MLB past players on each update which takes up free agent player space but it would be nice to see players that were dropped still exist on a roster update so they are available to make a full roster with every player available from default through every update.

Soto is the starting LF for the Nationals, kind of surprising they couldn't get him in. For a 19 year old, he's looking like a potential of 110!
