Volsfan's Fictional Roster 2019

For the last 6 months I have been working on a completely fictional roster for MLB The Show. I have been with The Show for 10 years now and was always a stickler for the most realistic rosters out there every year. They always had to be perfectly up to date and every last little detail had to be just right. To tell you the truth it got to be more of a chore to keep up with than fun.

That was until last year when I found bacon96's Fictional Roster. I downloaded his roster out of curiosity and once I began to play I was amazed at how fun the game was again. This inspired me to think about creating my own baseball world from scratch. 6 months later I have a whole new appreciation for roster creators.

This roster features complete 90 man organizations with 40-man rosters, line-ups, rotations, salaries, service time, ratings, Free agents, and equipment for every player. There are created players and players models from all over the community dating back as far as 2015. This roster is designed to start a franchise, pick a team and just play!

The roster should be ready to release sometime on Friday August 30th. Until then I have tried to do some previews to bring the roster a little more to life.
These rosters have been tested using Armor&Sword's sliders and clean screen approach. All service time has been simmed using these same sliders from 2018. A big thanks goes out to Armor who's incredible sliders make this game so much more realistic!

LOL! I tried to reference most of the baseball movies. Of course, the Yankees, Indians, and Twins are loaded with them. There are more hiding in there too!

Vol's...I can’t wait to see this. Bacon is a Fictional Roster Legend....great kid to get inspired from.

I've never used a fictional roster before but I just downloaded yours and looked through it. Looks awesome. I'm very tempted to use the Indians for obvious reasons but thinking about the Rays too.

Someone remarked in Classic Roster thread, that you have correct years for simulation stats, for career totals.

Is there a specific way too do this, or just the normal way of simulate 15 to 20-years, and pull players when key stats match.

I've never used a fictional roster before but I just downloaded yours and looked through it. Looks awesome. I'm very tempted to use the Indians for obvious reasons but thinking about the Rays too.

Thank you very much! I had never used one either but I have to admit I am having more fun with it. The great thing is you just play and don't worry about trying to micro manage any of the other teams. Let me know who you decide to go with and how it goes. Thanks again for the interest!

Thank you! I had to sim all of the service time using The Show 18 because 19 does not allow you to back date years. It will just say 2019 every year. Then yes it's just the normal way of simulating years and trying to get it as close as you can to what your looking for. This of course is very time consuming but worth it in the end because when you have the announcers on they will mentioned stats and highlights of the players careers. It also let's you reach milestones with players. It just adds realism to your franchise.

What I would do is get the numbers I was looking for a season and then export the player and import it back into my roster. Then I would save the roster and start another franchise for the next year and keep doing this until I reached the years I wanted to for the player. I didn't try and do the whole league at a time. I would do it a team at a time and usually do pitchers and then go back and do position players. I tried to do it all at once at first but it was just to hard to keep up with. Also if you reach the numbers you want on a certain player before that season ends or want to simulate an injury then you can send him to single A and the team will not bring him back up.

An example of this is how I did Stan Ross (Mr.3000). I simulated his career until he had 2,9997 hits and then simulated 9 years with him in A ball so it would show a 9 year absence. I then lowered his ratings so it would be hard to get the 3 hits he needs to achieve 3,000 hits. I'm not going to lie it is very tedious work lol but rewarding in the end.
