Was looking through your house rules and saw the one about not throwing anyone out from RF. Playing my franchise through 15 games I've noticed that Springer throws the ball much better than any either Rasmus or Marisnick. Never even thought to look into it until I was looking through your sliders.

Is this somewhat of a flaw in the game or is there another reason you have that rule for yourself?

One thing I've had a bit of trouble with is with pitchers in RTTS. I routinely see starters going way deeper into games than they have any business doing, often with pitch counts upwards of 120-130+. Complete games are way too commonplace. For example, Chris Sale is leading the league with 6 CG's in the first week of June, and on top of that, there are three people with 4 CG's, five with 3 CG's, and 16 with 2 CG's. It seems like something has gotten out of whack with the split between simulation and actual gameplay that RTTS presents, which I would guess has to do with the manager hook and starter stamina sliders.

Any guidance on how I should attack this? Should I try out the simmed game sliders or maybe something in between those and normal ones?
I don't really see what you're seeing so I guess my advice would be to double check the numbers for the sliders when you're simming vs playing.

I never see guys going 120-130 pitches and not getting pulled even with the manager hook way down, so maybe rtts is different like you mentioned, but I'd really doubt the game is coded to play differently in different modes. If anything, I see that it's more common for a cpu manager to yank a SP in the 6th/7th inning too early at the first sign of a rally.

Are you talking about CGs in played (rtts'd) games or simmed games? Guys are going to get CGs in simmed games no matter what, but usually at the end of the year with my sim sliders, the league leader will be in the neighborhood of 8-10 and there will be a handful of guys in the 5-7 range. Then there will be a clump of guys in the 2-4 range which is pretty normal if you compare it to what the CG leaderboard looked like last year in real life. There's only so much we can do here because the game is coded to have too many CGs. If you go too far then RPs start getting 120 appearances which is equally ridiculous.

Don't be afraid to tinker to get it how you want it. It's hard for me to give you good advice when we are not observing the same stuff unfortunately. Let me know if you find something out about things being different in rtts--I don't really play that mode.

The opportunity doesn't arise that often. The game is pretty good about making your 1B be away from the bag so you can't cheese this, but there are times when the 1B will cover the bag and you can get the assist at 1B, which basically never happens in real life. So I have the house rule. I wouldn't call it a glitch, but just keeping myself honest just in case.

Oh ok that makes perfect sense. I was thinking you were talking about at the plate which is why I was a little confused.

Yeah, it's a little bit ambiguous. I think I'll edit that to be more specific about 1B being what I'm talking about there.

looking over your house rules ..so Warm up pitchers should be on not off right ? Looking at your settings you had it at off.

No, I believe the "warm up pitchers" option has to do with whether you take the 8 practice pitches after subbing a guy in or not. I don't like to do that so I leave "warm up pitchers" off. You always have to get your pitchers warm in the bullpen to get them ready no matter how the options are set.

By the way, I am turning the scorebar display ("scorebug") back on because I miss seeing the pitch velocities. Either way, user preference.

Re: WTNY's Worst Sliders Ever for MLB 15 (zone hitting/classic pitching/auto fielding

Here's Spring Training game 2 of my Marlins franchise. I sent my JV out there to make it sort of like a split-squad game and was in the game until things unraveled in the 7th. A 2-out walk opened the door for Boston in the 7th and after a bloop single and an error by my 3B'man, they punished me. Nicolino needs more seasoning. Despite all the traffic I had on the bases and all the weak contact my guys were making, still only 1 GIDP so that's promising.

I think I will let my varsity take on the cpu's JV next time out, lol. It's only fair.
