Re: True Game MLB Sliders

Wow! I had so much fun with these sliders!!! Really love the game play with the modifiers. I had winning streaks, losing streaks, players slumped, got BLAZING HOT!!! So here is a quick rundown of my chise. I am suing a fantasy draft chise that was in year 3. It's the Texas Rangers just because I got tired of playing at PNC Park and thought Globe Field would be fun. I have never done a fantasy draft before but I have had fun with this team now in it's 3rd year as I have a good mix of youngsters and veterans. In Year 2 we had the worst record in baseball (before I started using these sliders). As we entered 2018 this is what my lineup looked like. 1B - Jose Abreu with Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Bell as my backups one of them would be DH. Started off with Encarnacion at DH but he got hurt and was out for 3 months so started the emergence of Josh Bell as a DH. 2B - Sean Coyle SS - Jurickson Profar with Asdrubal Cabrera and Dixon Machado 3B - Matt Dominiquez and Encarnacion played there sometimes. OF Consisted of Gregory Polanco in Right, Danny Santana in CF and Magneurius Sierra in LF. Utility Players were Justin Ruggiano, Alex Glenn, and Ramon Flores. My Catcher was Devin Mesoraco and Andrew Susac.

The starting rotation consisted of the Ace - Chris Archer, Jerad Eickhoff, Steven Matz (who sucked the whole year until I sent him to AAA), Kyle Zimmer (see Matz), Miguel Gonzalez (surprisingly very good), Jameson Taillon, and Arturo Bautista. Nobody on my starting staff won 15 games or more. Most wins - Chris Archer (13) and Jerad Eickhoff (11)

relievers were closer - Dellin Betances, Setup Man - Casey Fien, Middle relievers Daniel Bard, Ray Black, Vidal Nuno, Long relievers Michael Kirkman and Alex Claudio.

We finished the year 74-88 (15 games behind the Angels). 36-40 in the AL West, 36-45 at Home, 38-43 Road, 31-30 day games, 43-58 Night games

I will get to how the rest of the league finished in a moment. First I want to show you some stats that were a little surprising to me.

Total Hits = 1,329
Home Runs = 135 10.1%
Doubles = 242 18.2%
Triples = 22 1.6%
Singles = 930 69.9%
GIDP = 154 11.6%
Total At Bats - 5,467
Walks = 483 .8% (I need to walk more)
K's = 1,179 21.5%

Most Home Runs on Team - Jose Abreu (24), Gregory Polanco (20), and Matt Dominiquez (16).
Most Triples - Gregory Polanco (8)
Most Doubles - Gregory Polanco (37), Jose Abreu (30), and Josh Bell (27)
Most Hits - Gregory Polanco (189), Jose Abreu (158)

Pitching Stats:
Most Wins = Chris Archer (13) and Jerad Eickhoff (11)
Most Saves = Dellin Betances (34)
Most Innings Pitched = Chris Archer (218.1)
Most Strikeouts = Chris Archer (238) and Jerad Eickhoff (198)
Most Walks = chris Archer (73)
Best ERA - Jerad Eickhoff (3.15)
Best Reliever ERA Besides Closer = Michael Kirkman (1.29)
Quality Starts = Jared Eickhoff (23) and Chris Archer (21)

Ranks:
Batting Average - .242 (28TH)
Runs = 585 (27TH)
Hits = 1, 329 (30TH)
Doubles =243 (28TH)
Triples = 22 (28TH)
Home Runs = 135 (28TH)
Runs Batted In = 558 (28TH)
Stolen Bases = 44 (30TH)
Struck Out = 1,189 (7TH)
Walks = 483 (28TH)
GIDP = 154 (30TH) This is a big problem for me
ERA = 3.68 (13TH in MLB and 3rd in AL)
Strikeouts = 1,518 (1st)

So as you can see my real trouble is my offense but when you look at the line up the only players who have pop in their bat is Polanco, Abreu, Bell. Dominquez and Mesaroco have power sometimes. The rest of my offense is rookies and 2nd year players so I need to build my offense something fierce in the off season. My pitching staff overall is pretty damn good but could use a steady 4th or 5th starter.

As far as the rest of the league here is the breakdown of how the season ended up going into the post season:

AL EAST Division Winner - Boston Red Sox (92-70) Yankees were right there at the end.
AL Central Division Winner - Detroit Tigers (87-75) Indians were right there at the end.
AL West Division Winner - Los Angeles Angels (89-73) Seattle was right there at the end.
AL Wild Card #1 - New York Yankees (90-72)
AL Wild Card #2 - Seattle Mariners (87-75)
Worst Record in AL - Baltimore Orioles (62-100)

NL East Division Winner - New York Mets (94-68)
NL Central Division Winner - Cincinnati Reds (87-75)
NL West Division Winner - Arizona Diamondbacks (84-79)
NL Wild Card #1 - Philadelphia Phillies (87-75)
NL Wild Card #2 - Chicago Cubs (83-79)

Re: True Game MLB Sliders

Time for the 2018 Postseason and tonight's game features the NL Wild Card Game. The Chicago Cubs vs the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia PA. The temperature is 63 degrees at game time and expected to drop as the night goes on. The wind is blowing across from RF to LF at about 10 mph. The pitching matchup will feature Max Scherzer for the Phillies against Tyson Ross for the Cubs.

After Max Scherzer gets the Cubs to go down in Order 1,2,3 the Phillies take control of this game in the very first inning. Denard Span opens up the night as he doubles off the right field wall. Conforto rips a ball to right and Span will score from second making it 1-0 Phils. Later in the inning with Conforto on second and one out Hanley Ramirez tripled to left to score Conforto and the Phils now lead 2-0. Josh Reddick steps up to the plate and hits a towering moon shot to left field and the bell in Philly is ringing as the Phils lead 4-0 in the first.

4th Inning - After Iglesias was hit by a pitch and the benches almost cleared. Iglesias rubbed salt in the open wound as he stole second to get in scoring position. Soto then hit a single to left to advance Iglesias to third. Matt Scherzer stepped to the plate and hit a sac fly to right to score Iglesias and the Phils were pouring it on as it was now 5-0.

6th Inning - Jose Altuve led off and hit one to right for a single. Kendrys Morales walked after Blackmon and Brantley both stuck out. Paredes grounded to left to score Altuve and Morales and the Cubs had cut the lead to 5-2.

9th Inning - After Max Scherzer left the game and Gregerson came into close the game out. Paredes walked Andrus and Perez both struck out. Suarez was brought in to pinch hit for Matt Duffy and Suarez singled to left to put Paredes on 2nd. Jose Altuve stepped up and hit a single to right to score Paredes and put Suarez on second. Charles Blackmon came to bat with runners at first and second and 2 outs. The Phillies manager decided he had seen enough of Gregerson and called to his bullpen to bring out Adam Wainwright. Blackmon hit a towering shot to centerfield that looked like it may have a chance to leave the yard but Denard Span caught it at the warning track to end the game and the Phillies were the NL wild card winners as they won 5-3.

WP - Matt Scherzer 8.0 IP 6H 2ER 2BB 9K
Save - Adam Wainwright
LP - Tyson Ross 4.0 IP 6H 5ER 0BB 3K

Jose Altuve led the Cubs as he finished 2 for 5 with 1 a run and a RBI
Denard Span led the Phillies as he went 2 for 4 with a double and a run
Josh Reddick had a HR for the Phils

Player of the game: Max Scherzer

Attendance: 43,651 (sellout)

Next Post if anyone cares will be the AL Wild Card game featuring a matchup between the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners.

Re: True Game MLB Sliders

As we continue the 2018 Postseason tonight's game is the AL Wild Card. The Seattle Mariners have traveled from the West Coast and are ready to play in prime time. We are expecting a sell out crowd tonight to see Kyle Hendricks of the Yankees battle it out with Masahiro Tanaka of the Mariners. Go get a hot dog and a soda and settle in for an evening of baseball.

The national anthem was played and there were zero players kneeling and we are ready for baseball. The temperature at game time is a chilly 50 degrees and expected to drop into the low 40's as the game goes on. The win is blowing from RF to LF at about 6 mph and shouldn't be a factor in tonight's game. It's time for first pitch!

Top of 2nd - With one out Alex Gordon reached on an error by RF Carlos Gonzalez and Erick Aybar came to bat hit a grounder into left field to move Gordon to 2nd. Guillermo Heredia stepped into the box and hit a hard grounder to right to score Alex Gordon and the Mariners went up 1-0.

Bottom of 3rd - Donovan Solano reached first on an error by the pitcher Tanaka. With Tanaka running on the pitch Daniel Descalso ripped a grounder into right and Solano made it all the way to 3rd. Christian Yelich reached on a fielders choice and Descalso was out at 2nd. Yasmany Tomas hit a sacrifice bunt right to 3B Josh Donaldson which froze Solano at 3rd and advanced Yelich to 2nd. Carlos Gonzalez then cleared the bases as he hit a line drive HR to the right field porch and the Yankess took the lead 3-1.

Bottom of 4th - With Ben Paulsen standing on first with 2 outs after he led the inning off with a walk. Donovan Solano came up to bat and blasted a double to right to score Paulsen all the way from first and the Yankees now led 4-1.

Bottom of 5th - With one out and Yomany Thomas on 1st Carlos Gonzalez came to bat and hit a mammoth shot to left for his 2nd HR of the game and the rout was on as the Yankees led 6-1.

Top of 6th - Adam Lind hit a double to right for the Mariners and Erick Aybar singled to right to score Lind and cut the lead to 2-6.

Top of 7th - With the Mariners trailing 2-6 and get late into the game the Yankees manager decided to go to the bullpen as he brought in Medlen. Jean Segura got on base as he drove a ball into right. Josh Donaldson then hit a ball to left to move Segura to 2nd. Miguel Sano then hit a sigle to right to advance Segura to 3rd, Donaldson to 2nd and now the bases were loaded for Alex Gordon. Alex Gordon blasted a line drive to center to score Segura and Donaldson and Sano advanced to 3rd. After a mound visit by the manger he called to the bullpen and brought in the left hander Aaron Loup to face Adam Lind which again loaded the bases as Sano was on 3rd, Gordon on 2nd and Lind on 1st. Eric Aybar grounded to right and Alex Gordon was thrown out at 3rd. The inning ended with the Mariners trailing 5-6.

Top of 9th - The Yankees manager brought out Wade Davis to close out the game and put the Mariners down 1, 2, 3 Gane Over as Yankess win the AL Wild Card in a close one 6-5.

WP - Kyle Hendricks - 6.2 IP 12H 4ER 5R 0BB 6K
LP - Masahiro Tanaka - 4.1 IP 7H 3ER 6R 1BB 2K
Save - Wade Davis - 1.0 IP 2K

The Yankees were led on offense by Carlos Gonzalez as he went 2 for 5 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's.
The Mariners were led on offense by Erick Aybar as he went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's

Attendance - 49,642 (sellout)

Up Next will be the Division Series for AL and NL.....hope you are enjoying this!

Philadelphia Phillies vs NY Mets

Game 1 is in New York and will feature a pitching matchup of Marcus Stroman for the Phillies and Matt Harvey for the Mets.

It's a beautiful day in New York as it's 72 degrees and clear with the win moving from LF to RF at about 7mph. It's a packed house and it's time for baseball.

Bottom of 3rd - Matt Harvey helps himself as he hits a solo HR to right and the Mets lead 1-0.

Top of 4th - After Josh Reddick and Iglesias both singled. Headley hit a ball to the first baseman who threw to the shortstop covering 3rd to get Iglesias and Reddick advanced to 3rd. So with runners at first and 3rd the catcher Geovany Soto stepped to the plate. Soto hit a grounder to left to score Reddick and advance Chase Headley to 2nd and the score was tied at 1.

bottom of 6th - After Ketel Marte doubled to left Joc Pederson hit a 2-run homer to right and the Mets were back in the lead 3-1 heading to the 7th.

Top of 9th- Will Harris was brought into close the game down for the Mets. After getting the first batter to ground out Denard Span got on base then stole 2nd but Conforto flew out to left to end the game and the Mets won game 1 3-1.

National League Division Series
Arizona Diamondbacks at Cincinnati Reds Game 1

It's standing room only and a gorgeous day here in Cincy as we are about to see a pitching match up for the ages as Jordan Zimmerman of the Reds will battle Zack Grienke of the Dbacks in game 1. This will be one for the ages! The temperature at game time is 71 degrees and we have some cloud cover with the wind blowing at 10mph off the Ohio river. That should help keep the ball in the park today.

This was a great game! Take a look at the box score below!

GIDP = 154 (30TH) This is a big problem for me
ERA = 3.68 (13TH in MLB and 3rd in AL)
Strikeouts = 1,518 (1st)

I like the stats. They are right in line with true MLB averages and nothing is too far out of line. I am walking more this year and I want to say that I am ranked 4-5th in walks and second to last in K's. I agree. The modifiers allow for added variety across the board.
