PITCHING: WP: Britton (1)
Settings: Hall Of Fame difficulty, Zone hitting, Pulse pitching
Game summary: The Yankees couldn't string much offense together against a solid Ubaldo Jimenez, and Greg Bird's solo shot in the fourth inning wasn't enough to keep them from dropping their third game of the young season. Luis Severino had obvious difficulty with his command in the early going, and Joe Girardi considered removing him after he conceded three runs in the second inning. He stuck with the young pitcher, however, and Severino recovered before being pulled after ninety-four pitches. In the ninth inning, Gary Sanchez walked and Matt Holliday singled behind him, but Zach Britton kept his composure and wrapped it up for the Orioles.
My take: I really like these sliders. A fun, realistic challenge. There was only one walk in the game, but I have two explanations for that: 1. I'm a bit rusty so I have some discipline to regain, and 2. Severino tends to make his mistakes over the plate. Overall, the set is playing great. I'm not playing great, but the set is playing great.
Batting practice. Rtts and turn off fielding and baserunning opportunities.
Honestly it just takes time. Have an approach at the plate. I look for a segment of the plate - outside, middle, or inside until I have two strikes. I kind of run my pci up and down that 1/3rd of the plate until the pitch comes and then if it's there and I like it I try to hit it.
Hey TNK. Just finished a game on your sliders. Love the set. Good feel to the game. Beat the Padres 3-1. I just hope I don't have many 13-inning affairs. I'll wear out my pitching staff in the first month .. haha. Got the game-tying run in the 8th inning. Got two in the 13th to finally win it.
Braves - 3 | 10 | 0
Padres - 1 | 7 | 0
Only one HR hit between the two teams. Solarte hit that in the 2nd inning. I had a double, a couple of stolen bases, and 4 walks.
I'm going to play around with your v2 set tonight before I crash, and see how things play out.
Here's the end of the Detroit series from my '07 Yanks chise. Had to fight the urge to hit the fast forward button in this one as it got early quick as we scored 4 on 6 hits in the top of the 1st.
Probably gonna be my last test game in this chise for a minute, wanna see some more action from a roster closer to what OSFM will be tomorrow night.
