Detroit Tigers (5-20) @ Boston Red Sox (17-8) Pitching Matchup - Matt Boyd vs Ryan Weber
The teams were trading runs early in the game and score was tied 3-3 after 3 innings. Ryan Weber and Matt Boyd would both pitch 5 innings before handing it over to their bullpens with the score still tied 3-3. The Red Sox would take the lead in the bottom of the 7th after Christian Vazquez roped a liner into the LF corner for a lead off double and move up to 3rd base on a ground out by Benintendi. Mookie Betts was up next and he smoked a rocket high off the green monster to drive in Vazquez making it 4-3 but Betts was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double on a great throw by Christin Stewart. Xander Bogaerts would add a RBI double and the Red Sox had a 5-3 lead after 7 innings. Matt Barnes came on to pitch the top of the 8th and his very first pitch was crushed down the LF line by Josh Harrison and the ball rang out the foul pole for a solo HR to make it a 5-4 game. Barnes would surrender singles to Candelario and Stewart to set up runners at the corners for Detroit with one out for Niko Goodrum. Barnes would catch a break when Goodrum hit a soft liner that bounced in front of Chavis who flipped to 2nd base for the force out and Candelario stayed at 3rd base as he wasn't sure if the liner would be caught. Grayson Greiner would come to the plate next for a huge at bat with runners on the corners and 2 outs and Greiner delivered a RBI single to RF to tie the score at 5-5. Barnes should have been out of the inning but Steve Pearce booted a chopper to 1st base and the Tigers now had the bases loaded with 2 outs and Brandon Workman would come in to replace Barnes on the mound. Ronny Rodriguez was up next and he lined a ball in the gap for a double driving in two runs to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead. The inning went from bad to worse when Workman was called for a balk which brought home Jacoby Jones from 3rd base to make it 8-5. Drew VerHagen retired the Sox in order in the bottom of the 8th and Shane Greene would enter to pitch the bottom of the 9th looking to close it out. The Red Sox came up in the bottom of the 9th trailing 8-5 with the top of the order due up. Greene walked Benintendi to start the inning and Mookie Betts would follow with a towering fly ball down the LF line that stayed fair for a 2-run HR to cut the Tigers lead to 8-7 with nobody out. Steve Pearce was up next and he hammered a ball deep to CF that looked like a game tying HR off the bat but Jacoby Jones made a spectacular catch as he crashed into the CF wall for a huge out. Greene would settle down to strikeout JD Martinez and get Xander Bogaerts to ground out to end the game as the Tigers hang on for a thrilling 8-7 victory
WHAT A GAME!!!
* The Red Sox lose a heart breaker 8-7 after the bullpen imploded in the top of the 8th turning a 5-3 lead into a 8-5 deficit and the Red Sox almost staged a comeback in their final at bat but fell just short
* The Tigers earn a split of the 4 game series at Fenway Park to improve to 6-20 on the season and hope that this can serve as a turning point in their season after such an awful start
* The Red Sox fall to 17-9 with the loss
* Ryan Weber made his 1st start in a Red Sox uniform as he took the spot of an injured Nathan Eovaldi in the Red Sox rotation and Weber did his job as he gave the Red Sox 5 innings
* Mookie Betts has had a rough start to the season and may be showing signs of life after having the day off yesterday. Betts went 3 for 5 in the game with 4 RBI and launched a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 9th for his 3rd HR of the season after going 20 games without a HR
* Steve Pearce homered for Boston but committed a costly error in the 8th inning that extended the inning for Detroit and essentially cost the Red Sox the game
* Josh Harrison was 2 for 4 with a HR for Detroit while Ronny Rodriguez, Miguel Cabrera and Jeimer Candelario all had big nights offensively
* The Red Sox sent RP Colten Brewer down to AAA Pawtucket after the game and called up RP Travis Lakins who will be making his MLB debut when called on out of the pen
* The Red Sox are 2-2 through the first 4 games of this 10 game home stand and will welcome the Tampa Bay Rays to Fenway Park to begin a 3 game series. The Rays are currently 14-11 on the season and trail the Red Sox by 2.5 games for 2nd place in the AL East. Chris Sale and Blake Snell are set to square off on the mound in a great pitching match up to open the series
Is there any way of easily copying your camera angle? I really like it and would love to use it in my franchise!
Only way to copy it is to set your own customer camera
Start from the RETRO camera, and you'll have to make your adjustmnents
Use the pictures from post #1 as a guide, play boston at houston with Gerrit Cole on the mound and use Benintendi and Marintez as your first tow batters
Use the batter, bats, batters box, outfield walls, signs, etc as reference markers and you should be able to move the camera, zoom in or out, etc and fine tune it
TNK. Saw your comment on possibly raising solid hits. I have been having great games with 5-6 hit games and have had some 13-14. What does the solid hits actually do? I saw several sliders all at 4. So I was just curious what makes you feel this should be adjusted? I am thinking about trying it myself. It hesitant because things have been playing well. So I will wait til you make a official ruling before I change anything. Thanks again for another solid set
TNK. Update I did raise the solid hits and felt better overall. Didn’t alter much other then more solid hits versus little bloopers and choppers. Still had some but just felt better.
Personally I don’t think the solid hits slider needs raised. Offense has been fine. I really like the update. I’m getting more strikeouts while still having the occasional bad pitching outing. If anything I’d recommend nerfing the offenses a tad but I’m on a hot streak.
Also in regards to the camera angle - TNK uses that angle because it’s best for him. Mine is as close to the pictures as I could get, but you’re going to have to tweak it slightly once you face some live pitching. Just make sure you save along the way. Also be careful not to adjust too much. Keep in mind the pitcher stands on a different spot on the rubber(bump) depending on the situation(righty/lefty matchup, stretch, hard thrower, ect.) If I wanted to I could make it too easy to read the pitcher by adjusting the angle every at bat, but tweak in an actual game after you try to mirror the pics.
I agree that after several games with higher solid hits the offense became to much. I was having good games before so going back to the original number 3

Agree with you guys, sticking at 3....at least for now
