What changes would occur if CPU Consistency is at 7?

Good stuff Tgreer

I agree with you that the stats out of the box for cpu v cpu are pretty good and I don't think much tweaking is needed...I've played around with a few slider sets but keep returning to almost default.

The variation in match scores has also been good. Will give your tweaks a go once v1.05 comes out this morning and see how we go....but I do like your thinking.

Good to see you mate.

Re: CPU vs CPU Stats vs 2019 MLB Stats

Only done 10 games post 1.5 patch, all default sliders. My early takes on this:

- CPU offense is pretty much all or nothing. It either hits home runs or strikeout. I'm okay with slightly high # of HRs, but when it accounts for nearly 70% of total runs scored, it can be an issue.

- Teams are averaging just a little over 2.5 runs per game. I've rotated pitching staffs so I've seen starters 1-5 go at it but with similar results.

-CPU pitching seems a bit too overpowering at times with all the strikeouts (starters are averaging well over 10k per 9 inn.)

- High number of home runs and extra base hits, but very low number of singles hit.

Kinda difficult to come to conclusions at this point due to such a small sample size, but early impressions have me believing CPU has similar offensive problems from previous MLB The Show games, where it has difficulty scoring any runs outside of home runs hit.

It was just a few days ago where I thought the CPU offense was fine, outside the excessive home runs hit. But it's starting to show a few warts now.

Re: CPU vs CPU Stats vs 2019 MLB Stats

Just ran 30 games of CPU vs CPU with the following slider changes

CPU Contact 6
CPU Manager Hook 4
Fielding Errors IF 8
Throwing Errors IF 3
Fielder Arm Strength IF 4
Fielder Arm Strength OF 3
Baserunner Steal Ability 7

Results were
MLB The Show vs. real 2019 MLB season

R 5.17 (4.83)
H 9.56 (8.65)
E 0.43 (0.60)
2B 2.16 (1.75)
3B 0.06 (0.16)
HR 1.43 (1.40)
BB 3.57 (3.27)
K 8.67 (8.81)
SB 0.36 (0.47)
CS 0.13 (0.17)
DP 0.86 (0.71)
SP IP 4.63 (5.20)
AVG .251 (.252)

Overall it actually turned out pretty well, I think. Runs per game is above 2019 average but not unrealistic. The high number of doubles could be a contributing factor for that. I may increase the OF arm strength a little and see how that works. Another remedy could be dropping base running speed to 4, but I'm afraid that would have an adverse effect on base stealing and number of double plays, which I think is in a decent spot atm.

Starters were averaging fewer innings than normal but that's because there were three games where starters had a 1st inning exit due to an injury. That being said, I think the injuries slider may have to be bumped down slightly. Seems like starting pitchers keep dropping like flies, from what I've experienced.

I'd prefer to keep the wind for a little bit of added realism but may drop it down to 1 or 2.

Good info

I moved Injury down to 2 about 15-20 games ago and it definitely seemed to help with the injury frequency

Are these the only recommended slider changes, or do they also include the changes from your previous recommendations?

Re: CPU vs CPU Stats vs 2019 MLB Stats

Oddly enough, after posting those results, I had back to back slugfests with a ridiculous number of home runs hit. That included an Orioles vs. Tigers game with both teams combining for 11 home runs hit. Pedro freaking Ciriaco with his 50+ power hit 3 home runs lol

Those are the only changes I made for those games.

Currently testing another set where I lowered power down to 4 but increased solid hits. Have a handful more games with that before I'm finished.

These are used with Ridin's full minors 1.5 roster.
