Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

Do you guys use the 7s or 8s for the CPU contact / solid hits?

Steve and I both use CPU contact at 8 now. I did have it at 7 but bumped it up.

Cool, thanks. What about solid hits?

And also, what HUM pitcher consistency do you use in conjunction with the CPU contact @ 8?

I do solid hits at 8 as well. I do use consistency at 3. But I know some people have raised it for their liking. But I would say default would work fine as well. Especially if you use clean screen.

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

My Gaurdians have now lost 3 in a row and about to get swept in a 4 game series against the Angels. Ohtani is killing me with 3 HR already in the series.

Finally found my offense. The last game I was down 4-0 in the 4th. Scored 5 runs in the 5th to make it 5-4. Bottom 5, Ohtani hits a 2 run HR to make it 6-5. The 7th inning I score 2 runs on a rbi single to go up 7-6. and then Rendon hits a 2 run HR to make it 8-7 for the final score. It was awesome to see the back and forth. Guardians are now 14-11.

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

Ok.. I finally took the plunge going to All-Star using your setup; I will say this, All-Star with modified sliders plays much better than HOF in MLB 22. More animations, more player ratings having effect, etc. I've been a lifer on the HOF level, but it is far too limited in this iteration of the game.

Would love input here: I would like to tone down the CPU offense, but only by a hair. They had a bit too much potency using the 8s for contact and solid hits. I'm afraid if I drop both to 7 it will make them a bit too weak. FYI, I am pitching with HUM consistency at 5, as I use the clean screen approach. My thoughts on approach are:

1. Reduce solid hits only to 7, leaving contact at 8.
2. Reduce their timing to 4, leaving both contact and solids at 8.
3. Reduce their contact to 7, leaving solids at 8.
4. Other... ??

What do you think would think would be the best move to only bringing down the potency of the CPU offense ever so slightly. I know this game is a bear to tune, so even a slight reduction in the wrong area could make the CPU going from being potent to impotent.

Note: The only negative to AS for me is that Ks are lower on both sides compared to HOF. In all honesty, I am more than fine with that given that I am seeing much more "baseball" everywhere else. I play every pitch, so you might not see this using quick counts. It is not a negative critique to your set, rather AS combined with an every pitch style of play.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for trying these out. I am glad that this set can give you enjoyment on 22. Seems quite a bit of us turned 20 back on. I would probably start with contact at 7 with solid hits at 8. That could also give you a few more strikeouts. If you still think that didn’t make much difference you can lower solid hits to 7. We were on 7 for both for a while and then moved to 8.

That timing slider is a little sensitive. We tried to lower it on HOF and legend to get strikeouts but it makes their offense too weak.

But you could go either way on what to lower to 7 first. Either could get you the sweet spot. If you feel everything is a line drive or hard hit than solid hits could be the thing to try first. Let us know how it goes. What team are you going with?
