Re: Suggested slider recommendation for those who play CPU vs CPU franchise mode

As seen in the original post I edited, here is the final set of sliders that I believe work best for edited rosters. This is what was used in the game between the Brewers and Cubs which was an all-around great game. Lots of variety and a win by the Brewers after trailing 4-1 at one point. Josh Hader came in and blew away the Cubs with 2 quick strikeouts before sealing the deal. I will let a few more CPU vs CPU games play out with this final set before I test the same set out on MLB The Show '21.

Re: Suggested slider recommendation for those who play CPU vs CPU franchise mode

Diamondbacks 8, Braves 7

Very exciting game. The Braves had trouble with Madison Bumgarner until he had to be pulled after 7 innings. The Diamondbacks were on top 7-2 at that point. Two Arizona relievers gave up a combined 5 runs over the last 3 innings including a 2 run double to the Braves' Marcell Ozuna that brought Atlanta within 1 with a man on third. Arizona's Archie Bradley was able to strike out the last man up to end the game. Lots and lots of variety as well as suspense.

Re: Suggested slider recommendation for those who play CPU vs CPU franchise mode

Next up, I'm going to plug these sliders into MLB The Show '21 and use Willard76's edited roster. There were virtually no errors at default with MLB The Show '20, so I'm going to leave everything the same except all 4 outfield and infield error sliders which I will start off at default to see if there is a difference in the games themselves. If these work well on '21, it will be exciting to see if they do the same for '22. Willard is close to releasing a good, edited set for that game.

Re: Suggested slider recommendation for those who play CPU vs CPU franchise mode

Due to slightly higher than average offensive performances in games down the road when the 3rd, 4th, and 5th man on the pitching rotation starts, I have made slight adjustments to what I said would be the final cpu vs cpu slider set for MLB 20 The Show. I have reduced hitting contact from 6 to 5 for both the human and cpu. Pitching control has also been reduced from 6 to 5 both both human and cpu. This brings the set much closer to the default sliders out of the box. Offenses aren't as flashy as they were in my earlier tests, but then again those were aces pitching. They naturally should have the upper hand. This will tame offenses into being more realistic when the 3rd, 4th, and 5th starters pitch. This set has been updated on my first post. I will show a few results. Tell me what you think.

Re: Suggested slider recommendation for those who play CPU vs CPU franchise mode

I'm glad someone is doing this. I've been working with several CvC slider sets in 22. Everytime I think I found the sauce I get a string of awful games.

OP, what ump preferences do you use? I'm going to test yours on 22 and see what I get. I've always used random for ump preference.
