Player Lock '18 through '22

I play the game a bit different then most. When my team is in the field, I player lock the pitcher. When my team comes to the plate, I player lock each batter as they come up to hit. So I only bat and run with batter and pitch with pitcher.


I have been doing this since 2018. I pause when in the field before the first pitch is thrown and lock the pitcher. I pause and lock each batter as they come to the plate. I have done this in 2018, 2019, and 2020 with no issues, however in 2021, I can still do pitcher in the field, but wen pausing and trying to lock the batter, it is not possible. If someone gets on base, then you can lock the batter or runner.


So now my question. Is this a bug in 2021? If so, was it fixed in 2022? Thank you for any response. I do this so that the CPU makes all the decisions for me just like they do for themselves.

This is a really good idea! If they have indeed took that out as an option…bad move. Sounds like a bug or another “little thing” SCEA has taken out of the game.

Do you have '22 and can check this, or know anyone with '22. Don't want to get '22 yet, and would like to know if this works like did in '18-'20 or if is like '21.
