Does Anybody Care About Records Anymore?

One of the more rewarding things about playing every game in a season is when your best players start compiling some fun stats. It’s always a race against the end of the season to see if you’ll get to these revered numbers and when you do it, it’s awesome. At least it used to be. This year with the new boring as hell commentators, they said “home run chase? Who cares? Soooo 2003” and have not mentioned the fact that I am hitting a historic amount of homers once. This one was the icing on the cake as I had to pause and share. I couldn’t believe it. Not one single mention of it being the 70th homer. Not even in passing!

When will SDS try to add immersion to record breaking seasons/chases or try whatsoever to make you feel like you actually did something when you play 162 games lol. Rant over

Boo F@%king who All I ever see on this site is complaining about video games that you all continue to play. If the games piss you off so much that you feel the need to rant daily then stop playing the games

It's not even a record breaker though, the headline at the bottom of the screen says you're 4 shy of the record.

Re: Does Anybody Care About Records Anymore?

But they call out career numbers, and even the number of homeruns hit in a season quite often. They do this for other stats as well.

I know you hit number 70, but instead of mentioning it, the commentary broke to the line that states that Thome has now homered in 4 straight games.

But when I hit number 300 with Goldschmidt earlier, they acknowledged it. Nolan Arenado is one shy of 300 and when he comes to bat, usually his first at-bat, they will mention how he is one homerun shy of 300. They are doing the same with Adam Duvall who is one shy of 200.

They mentioned how Jack Flaherty was close to strikeout number 1000 in his career during my season and when he hit the mark, they acknowledged it.

It may not occur as often as you'd/we'd prefer, but it happens quite often in my experience and isn't completely forgotten/omitted as your post would suggest.

Re: Does Anybody Care About Records Anymore?

They do an okay job for some things, but then there isn't a peep for others. I got Kenley Jansen his 50th save of the season and 400th for his career, and there wasn't any mention of it. I even turned commentary back on for the 9th just because I figured they'd mention it.
