Just curious,are you buying Show 23 for the PS5?

If so, what's your reason?

Are you getting the PS4 version?

If so what's your reasons instead of the PS5 version?

Finally who is skipping the Show 23?

Again, why?

I'll go first, I'm going to get the PS5 version cause I like the stadium feature, BUT I'm waiting til they go down in price. 😂

I had preordered it for ps5 soon as they allowed so playing it for sure. Not sure if I will use the ps5 or ps4 version yet since i get access to both. being able to use sounds in ps4 version makes me possibly be leaning that way

as much as I'd love fiddling around in the stadium creator,
there's only 1 of 2 things that will make me upgrade from ps4 pro to ps5:
1) they quit making the Show for last-gen
2) whenever EA releases their CFB game

so, with 23, I'm in for the ps4 version digital download (first time I'm ever passing on the disc version),
getting it March 24. I'll probably overdose on the Show that weekend
and won't even make it to the regular Tuesday release day lol

I’ve purchased every edition day 1 since 09 (except for one year - 13)

It was always a no-question when Y2Y saves were a thing. But now I’m having so much fun with my franchise in 22 that this is the first year that I’m still on the fence this close to release.

I’ll probably cave and get the digital PS5 version that allows for early access. For context I’m a 100% offline franchise player, every pitch every game grinder.

I’m going to just ride for a bit and see what everyone has to say about the gameplay etc. before I pull the trigger on anything. I passed on 21 but I got 22. I still have a historical franchise I’m playing with 20.

If I buy it will be for ps5

I've got the digital deluxe edition pre-ordered on my PS5. I always support SDS every year bc I feel like they make the best sports game out there, and also bc I'm a baseball fanatic. Can't wait till the 24th!

Yes you can switch franchise save files from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. You just have to upload your save file to the cloud.

Yes there is a difference in framerate (smoothness) of the PS5 version versus the PS4 version

Nothing really stood out this year as a must buy, so I am holding back on purchasing for the time. I will probably try to catch it on sale. That will give the roster folks time to do their thing, and will give SDS time to put in place some patches.

I'm going to skip. #1 I was unemployed for the last 7 months, so was probably going to for financial reasons, and while I really liked what I saw with new draft and draft class, still a lot of other franchise problems that need to be fixed and it's clear they have to overhaul the whole thing to do it, so I will stick with my every other year purchase.

Hopefully the tackle something new for 24 and get more names added, they said yesterday that it will be updated over years. I'm good running this franchise on 22 for another year.

The presentation stuff was actually really nice, but the player generation in this game is so poor that the draft/scouting stuff doesn't make me want to get it.

The last new version of this game I bought was 20. I actually bought 21 in 22 because I knew a new commentary team was going to be pretty empty and I never tired of Vasgersian. I think Sciambi is great but we all knew (or should have known) a new commentary team is a multi-year process to get as many lines as we want.

I've always been an every other year type, that way the game doesn't feel as stale when it's "the same thing every year". I don't understand people who buy it every year and still say it's the same thing. Just don't buy it?

I'll be skipping again and hoping for something better in '24. If it's not there, then I'll keep going with OOTP, an "old" version of that as well.

I buy the game every year, so no different for me this year. I will be buying it for ps5. I intentionally waited to preorder until after the Franchise stream, not because I was on the fence, but incase they track when preorders are made I wanted it to reflect that I preordered right after the Franchise stream. Not sure if they track that kind of thing, but in case they do.

Already pre-ordered to play offline DD and the Negro League Storylines mode.

Sticking with my Orioles franchise on '22 at launch though. I'm in the middle of season 5 and would love to wrap it up by getting to the World Series. If we don't, I could see myself sticking with it a lot longer (even if we DO win, I still may very well stick with it).

I neither love nor hate what they did with franchise this year (except for the new playoff format being included - THAT I hate with a passion). Whether I eventually wind-up doing a franchise in '23 is going to depend on how I feel about the gameplay in '23 and where my heart is with respect to my Orioles franchise.
