what this brings the total to?
also, is it a coincidence there are 30 mlb teams or is that somehow relevant to there being 30 new templates

I used this a ton. However, I see nothing in any of the photos that’s new. The marketing department could have shown “new” concourse items. Something. Unless I’m missing something.

Agree. Until that and team branding is added, no reason for me to use it or to be excited for stadium creator. Still light years behind NBA2k’s customization.

It's only replacing the current templates I'm sure. Same thing happened last year, they just replaced the 30 templates in 21 with mostly new ones in 22.

Wow. That's it. 4 New things.

New stadium templates. Don't think very many people will care about that.
Online at night. That's fine but not a big deal.
Play with friends. Meh.
More concourse items. Good but kind of expected.

You would think by now they would have an idea of what their consumers want. But they typically don't, so I don't know why I was hoping for something different. It's amazing that they couldn't figure out how to incorporate some of the most requested things that many have asked for.
1. Different foul territory options. The current one is ridiculously enormous.
2. Distance markers on walls.
3. Ads on Walls.
4. Stripe on top of walls.
5. Team branding of some sort.
6. Fix how things snap. Sometimes it works great and other times it's way off. Especially with the stands.
7. A little more memory for stadiums.
8. Being able to put props in the dead spots when you have an indents on the wall angles.
There are some more things, but you get the idea.
The stadium creator could be amazing if they could fix the issues with it and incorporate the stuff that most of us want.

My guess is they spent most of their time working on the Negro league stuff.

There were 30 templates in 2021. They replaced a number of them and had a partially refreshed set of 30 in 2022. Now they are just going to replace the 30 with an entirely new set for 2023.

Who actually uses the templates? The only stadiums I ever see in the vault built from a template are the rush jobs or jokes people make for their DD team. Serious users of the mode like myself don’t. “Be inspired” was a real stretch in that post.

Hey, I’m happy the online crowd got a few features, although that’s not me. The August patch last year added a lot of useful new props so, if this “concourse materials” means more of that, it will certainly only help us creators.

I can honestly say I never used a template. If there are no fly overs, or no seeing the outsides of the stadiums, a lot of props are a waste. I saw stadium makers put a ton of time into great exteriors and not once were they seen after downloading. Too few signs/ads for inside. The lack of signs on the walls/distance might have something to do with collision detection.

Random groups of people, even if static, would be a nice addition.

The historic stadiums I created and uploaded to the vault were all created from scratch. For me more items for the concourse was nothing I was asking for.

What I would have liked is what most people have already mentioned:

1. Being able to put ads and scoreboards on the walls.

Additionally, I would like to have the creator tweaked so it is easier to line up the stadium seats layers. I find getting the upper deck and lower deck lined up right is difficult and any error in the middle is magnified by the end.

I would also have liked added turn of the century wooden stands.

The bottom line is that the objective for SDS should be to get the stadium creator to the point where one can actually recreate from scratch the mlb stadiums included in the game. There is a way to go still.

there is alot to take from this "update" post, just gonna have to wait till the game drops to go in and see whats added. do love that one of the templates is a local/neighborhood style stadium. i love creating that style the most

EDIT: just noticed in one the photos the shadows are coming from right field. its probably just the screenshot being taken in a game where the devs are playing at like 7am, but there is a part of me that hopes sun placement is changeable now
