In past years when did the first update usually come out? Was going to start rolling my franchise but now waiting for an update and official Senga arrives
How many weeks are they required to wait?
MLB- New York Mets
NFL- New York Giants
NCAAF- Miami Hurricanes
well according to the mlb the show home screen in the game there no roster update so idk if they do what 2k does and just update the live roster daily and they are waiting for the ratings update in may. but according to the screen there no roster update in the near weeks

I always thought it was a couple weeks. Its very disappointing to me that they can not just put out accurate rosters from day 1. Why a spring training game does not count. I mean does the player get a pay check in spring? I bet he does.

I just downloaded the roster that has been downloaded the most and started a franchise with that for the time being .. kinda like a practice franchise till Ridin's Rosters come out. Plus I'm starting my franchise in spring training... just to give me some time.

I downloaded some CAPs of Senga and Fujinami. Normally I'm fine using those but most of them look pretty bad this year. I'm not waiting another couple of weeks to start my franchise though. I'm not falling into that waiting for this and waiting for that trap, and then it be July before I actually get started. I'll just deal with the CAPs. I do hope they put out a patch soon though.

I was wondering this yesterday so I checked the last two years and it was on the last Friday of April which puts us in line for an April 28 update. Im not going to be able to wait that long to start a franchise so I’m just going to get a Senga CAP and get started on my franchise

The Senga ones I have found are pretty decent actually. Fujinami not so much.

The "Live Roster" that you can use in the exhibition mode only really sets the roster for that game. It still only uses players and ratings from the latest roster (You'll notice some players have the wrong jersey number because they haven't been updated in a roster update yet). The typical roster updates drop on Fridays. Usually you don't get a lot players added until the 2nd Roster update of the season. This Friday's would be too soon for a lot of rookies to be added.

Wow that late. I think I learned going forward not to pay the extra money. They can not even get the rosters right

Spring Training games do not count towards service time
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Exactly this. I am back to The Show after a few years off and not making the mistakes of past years. By the time you get done waiting for this update, that roster, this slider set to really get into the game, it's almost football season and time to move on to other things. Would rather just play the game out of the box. It's never going to be perfect even after the updates anyway. There's always the next thing you can wait for.
Most of it is because of the MLBPA rules, not the developers. They can't put players in that they're legally not allowed to use.
I wonder how long it takes to get the new players done in the game. Can't they atleast do the leg work for the 75% are sure to be there opening day and push the players in roster update after they played a game in the bigs?
