Perfect/perfect is rarely a hit
In previous years, p/p was almost always at least a base hit. This year, it's probably only 25% of p/p results in being on base. Frustrating to say the least.Tags: None -

And?
Just cause you get perfect perfect that doesn't mean based on location and speed it's not hit right at someone.
Key to hitting is trying to anticipate type and location and time it up and then hope for the best.

Well, that's exactly what perfect 'timing' means. Not hitting it directly at a fielder most of the time.Last edited by Skippy85410; 04-13-2023, 08:18 PM.Comment

I'm not the only one who noticed this. Look through other forums. It's been reported multiple times.
Perfect/perfect is not easy to do and it's not rewarded in '23 as much as it should be.
Most of my hits are what sound like weak foul tips and usually just a lazy dribbler that lands in shallow outfield. RARELY is perfect/perfect a base hit or more.Last edited by Skippy85410; 04-13-2023, 08:23 PM.Comment

Just, because you square a ball up, does not mean it will be a hit. That’s not how baseball works. Also last I read, the overall metrics was like perfect/perfect balls were a base hit like 75% of the time, which does match my experience.I'm not the only one who noticed this. No, I'm a seasoned Show player. Been playing it for years so I would know that this year's perfect swings are not as rewarding as years past.Comment

All perfect-perfect means is that you are going to hit the ball hard. Doesn't guarantee they won't catch it.I'm not the only one who noticed this. Look through other forums. It's been reported multiple times.

EDIT (I guess I should try to make this productive): I haven't noticed any difference from previous years.Chicago Cubs

In the game logs at the end of the game it tells you all the perfect perfect hits and the results. I’d say it’s a successful hit about 70-75 percent of the time. This tracks with what they’ve told us their telemetry reports. Why people think it should be an automatic hit, I don’t know.Comment

What’s your sample size on this? Do you check the perfect perfect numbers after each game?
You said you use sliders, are you aware how sliders effect gameplay? Especially in The Show.
Timing up a ball perfectly does not guarantee a hit. That’s not how baseball works. It increases your chances of a successful hit, but it doesn’t guarantee it.
This isn’t NBA 2K where every green is a guaranteed make.Comment

I feel like you are rewarded more than your are not when perfect perfect. But you will have those games where you are hitting the ball hard and not getting hits. That’s just baseball though.Last edited by NYJin2011tm; 04-14-2023, 06:16 AM.Comment
