Hitting and Pitching Difficulty

Question about these... I am currently on All-Star for both. I am on a 23 game winning streak with my franchise. Not that I'm complaining .. some games are close, some are blowouts. If I want to get more of a challenge , which am I changing .. the hitting or the pitching ? What kind of a challenge is it giving me?

I guess what you’re changing would depend on the results you’re currently having, are you scoring too many runs? Is your pitching too strong?

My hitting feels just right.. my pitching may be too strong. The computer is not making solid contact it seems like. I have bump up its timing and contact slider by one notch.. and while that may have improved its hitting somewhat .. I feel there still needs to be a better challenge from the other team. My record in franchise is 31-5. I'm on a 23 game winning streak. Prior to that I was 8-5 and on a 3 game losing streak. I mean it could be just one of those things. If that makes sense

Pitching is easy in this game, I have mine set to hall of fame. I have hitting set to all star and I get a good mix of games. I may move pitching up to legend even since I pitch a lot of low scoring games

This years game has really been a challenge. I have for years played on HOF but I went Legend this year with some very out of the box slider changes.
I changed CPU contact to 9, power to 6 and solid hits to 6. I’m getting competitive games with that. I’m also pitching with classic.
Don’t be afraid to get out of the slider box.

I use legend for both with sliders increased to help my timing, contact and solid hits. I feel this gives a more realistic challenge whilst not being too difficult. My numbers/scores are pretty accurate.

Pitching I’ve got control and consistency way down with CPU contact and solid hits increased.

Game feels nice to me.

I’d suggest you go up to legendary and adjust sliders until you find a sweet spot. The difficulty you’re on now is obviously too easy.

23 game win streak would be a record and pretty doubtful any team ever does that. Pitching overall vs the cpu has been too easy since 2020 (that I first noticed), but probably sooner. Just raise cpu contact up to 7 or 8 along with timing to same number. That alone will help a lot. If still needing more competition lower your control and consistency to 3/2. Check out the slider forum for ideas. There are sets for different difficulties that will probably work for you.

I've played a few games on legend difficulty, classic pitching, and noticed a big difference. Cpu really beat me up. I would try that. I've never played on legend in my 20 years of this game but it might be time.

Yeah, I found default legend to be pretty good myself. Very similar game results from our allstar sliders with cpu offense beefed up a bit. We had to go to legend for 2021 to get a challenge, so it's not surprising this is probably the new norm going forward with this game.

Never been a Legend guy before, but I am this year. I think it’s the way to go, at least for me it is.

I use Dynamic in Spring Training playing every game. I ended up this year on Legend+ for pitching and HOF for hitting. Most years I’m HOF pitching and All Star hitting.

For me, I play on All Star+ with some silders adjusted. Its fractionally too easy, but I also feel rewarded when I do it right, and punished when I screw up, which is always what I want from any video game. I allow 0-4 runs in about 80% of the games, but the CPU does go off on me every once in a while. I gave up 12 in a game I played yesterday.



When I bump up from AS+ to HOF, I become batting practice for the CPU. Rocket line drives to every batter, homers leaving the park every inning, and giving up 15-20 runs a game. That slight raise in difficulty is just too much for me to ever handle or compensate for, and I get destroyed, so I'm incapable of moving higher than where I am.

10 year + Franchise guy, i.e. I only play against the CPU. Have noticed pitching especially easy this year. Generally I toggle between AS/HOF difficulty for hitting and pitching during the season. This year had to go legend for both and tweak CPU sliders ++ in most hitting categories to get things more realistic. Hitting has been easier too, but not as extreme as pitching IMO. No slider adj for hitting, just going to Legend has gotten more realism for me. 1 thing, I always use quick counts, and I think maybe the not adjusting the pitch count (minus 1 pitch per batter) this year, whether it's a bug or not, might be having some influence.

This is my set up right now. All-Star batting, default hitting sliders (I always have OF'ers reaction, speed and arm down two notches or at 3) and HOF pitching with CPU hitting all up one or at 6. I probably need to bump the hitting up again for the CPU. My pitching is still pretty dominant. My offense is pretty realistic. I can be shut down one game and core 10 the next. Or in game, be shut down but then pile on the bullpen, or vise versa.
