In Franchise, can you extend staff contracts?

I've been looking all over for the option to just extend staff contracts rather than let them expire and sign new guys and I don't see the option anywhere. Is it missing or am I missing it?

The only way to "extend" managers/coaches is to fire them and then re-hire them with a new contract.

Something I'm hoping is added in the not so distant future. That an mid-season firings by the AI controlled teams.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
