Haven't seen anything in regards to time.

My guess is it will be similar to time of the cover reveal.

This has been updated with the collector's edition info from yesterday and the note that the only way to get a physical copy of the game on PS5 is via snagging the Physical Current Gen Standard Edition

It's stupid for the consumer but probably shrewd for Sony. At least in the short-term.

In some ways though isnt this where the future of gaming is headed? I mean in 10 years does anyone truly believe we will still have discs at all?

Sucks I agree but just seems like the writing on the wall.

Watch the game not actually be on the disc, just the license. The game will probably be a separate download.

I don't doubt we'll mostly get rid of physical media in a lot of cases, it's just strange that it's one console in this case -- and it's ironically not Xbox, the one with all the rumors lately about losing physical media etc.

And even stranger, its the console that The Show was expanded to in the last couple years.

If anything, you would think Sony would have the discs because of being Sony exclusive for so long.

It is very puzzling for sure. I have no idea who makes these decisions and why
