There are those who find it boring. But not me, I like the stress of having to rely on the attributes of the pitcher.

TBH, I do find it kind of boring, but it's the only interface that makes the game somewhat realistic in my opinion. I would prefer to use meter, but I hardly walk anyone and it feels too easy. I play on HOF for reference.

Have u tried pinpoint…I made the switch this year…fully committed to pinpoint…yes your probably still not gonna walk a lot of guys but it definitely makes you think about pitch selection…I find myself throwing more fastballs when behind the count due to not having the confidence in breaking balls…also keeps me much more engaged

I get your point, but to me Pinpoint replicates the attributes as well, maybe to a lesser extent of course. I can absolutely tell the difference from a guy with great control vs not.

The beautiful thing about this game is that we have these options.

Agreed 100%. Ratings still matter on every single interface, even if you're perfect with your inputs. That's where the Perfect Accuracy Region comes in - it's bigger or smaller depending on the pitcher's H/9 (and PClutch in RISP situations). It's also varying sizes depending on the type of pitch you throw, and even by interface choice (pinpoint has a significantly smaller PAR than Analog, for example)
And when you're not perfect with the inputs, you might as well be playing classic because you lose that finer degree of control of where you can place the ball.

And if it's too easy to be perfect with your inputs and upset the game balance, at least give the competitive game style a try. Especially on pinpoint, it reduces the margin of error for pitching input. On Legend Competitive Pinpoint, you need a 98% accurate gesture to get perfect input for a 4 seam fastball - and that's only one part of 3 that you need to actually get the full perfect input! (where the feedback goes blue). That's not exactly easy to do repeatedly over the course of a full 9-inning game.

Who actually used 3 clicks on meter? Hold the button and release for power. Click for accuracy. Two presses.

In my opinion, this is the only method that is synced to the pitchers motion from start to end so timing is dependent on different pitchers.

Additionally it gives you the best ability to work your stamina and stuff. More power uses stamina and hurts accuracy, less for pinpoint accuracy.

And rating still have a big effect. Additionally, the slight human element leads to variation in how guts perform for the user.

The rest all seem too simple or too gamey.

A lot of pitches I throw with just two clicks but a lot of times, some pitchers in real life don't grip and rip, depending on the situation. They are pitching to contact and take a little mustard off the throw. Look to the wisdom of Crash Davis, strikeouts are fascist. Throw more groundballs, they are democratic.

I don't mind small doses of gimmickry in my video games. So long as it doesn't break my immersion I'm tolerant.

Re: Pros and Cons of Each Pitching Interface in MLB The Show 24

I always used meter in the past, this year I tried analog, which I like and today I tried classic. It was one of the most frustating moments ever while playng games. I get the idea behind it and I like that idea, actually I like it so much, that I don't mind the "boring" input. Nevertheless, I am not sure that I'll be able to handle the frustrations that come along with it.

Randomly played MIA@CIN on all-star with Hunter Greene on the mound. He probably won't win any Cy Young Awards, so it was rather tough. I aimed down low, he missed the zone up high. Slider to the left, went somewhere right. I get that the ratings are the deciding factor and of course I threw more balls, walked more guys and didn't record a single K, but it's hard to get used to being kinda helpless in a game. Marlins won 7:2, with 3HR and 14 hits total.

I restarted the game and thought to myself that if aiming doesn't seem to help, why aim at all? So I only pcked a pitch and threw the ball. I won that game 6:0, escaped a bases loaded jam, held the Marlins to 6 hits and struck-out 7.

Very small sample size, but that really confused me.
