I'm thinking of buying 24 -

The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Need your opinions. Should I buy 24 if I have 23 already? Is it worth dropping $70 on 24? I mainly play franchise and can care less about the other modes.

Well, it's been the best Franchise Mode I've played from a gameplay perspective and I'm playing with default sliders. However, I think interfaces matter.
That being said: I think it's on a 10% discount currently. You could speculate that it might get discounted even more relatively soon because there have been problems with Diamond Dynasty and the DD addicts have been complaining. This has been driving players away, thus lowering revenue. When this happens they'll lower the price to see if the fence sitters and new suckers will bite. Maybe 50%, but I don't know.
I'm on xbox and get it through gamepass. I'll buy it when it drops.

If you are buying it for PlayStation (the original console of the game) don't bother. Unless you like 8 straight strikes to put the AI down to their last strike.... Then, they magically get no less than 2TB on a purposely placed pitch 6 feet off the plate. This title is an RNG Nightmare. It's trash.
I said I wasn’t going to buy it but Soto on the Yankees just lured me in.
It’s a much better game than ‘23. The strikeout issue has been out to bed. The pitch clock is irrelevant but the pickoffs do change the strategy some. Bullpen sim stats still an issue, nothing has changed there. I control all 30 teams so being able to do the draft this year w all 30 is a big pick up. The scouting is a little deeper if you’re into that. Def. An upgrade, just depends on where you are in your ‘23 franchise really.

Yeah agree. It's a solid game. Gameplay is good and it's visually impressive on a 4K tv.
I would never say don't buy a game at full price if your going to play it alot and get your money's worth
Overall it's a little better than '23 but I thought '23 was very good as well.I don't really find much of a difference in franchise mode though.I bought '23 cheap late in the year as I have gamepass anyway.I hate to abandon a good franchise I have going every year though.

Ha, ditto.
The the wider question: it is fun game. I'm nothing more than a semi-casual gamer. I've had to tweak sliders to find my level. I only really play RTTS and you have to suspend reality when your club makes some weird moves (trading for Littel only to put him on waivers within a month). I have fielded more in two seasons in the majors than all 3B have fielded in reality for the last four seasons.
I bought it the same week it came out, I think, and don't regret it at all.

I feel like this statement alone isn’t enough information to properly answer, as there’s multiple different ways to experience Franchise play in all sports games.
If you primarily enjoy playing games, you’ll find some nice under the hood balancing compared to last year, and an additional option to progress faster (custom game entry).
However, if you’re more drawn to managing your organization, it’s not significantly different from last year.

Not managing a single game, GM’ing your team over the long haul. Simulating a lot and advancing several years into the future. Trades, draft, and free agency are all virtually the same as 23.
I played last years and actually got bored with it pretty quick. I felt like no matter how much I adjusted sliders I either scored too little runs or too many. However, I'm having a blast playing this years. I'm seeing a ton of variety in gameplay and I haven't touched my sliders once since opening day.
