Does Pitching difficulty impact CPU's PCI size?

Haven't played the show in a couple years and just picked up 24 and it feels like the CPU simply cannot hit the ball. Ive tried just about and the only thing that seems to make them hit is dropping the difficulty. Is this because the CPU is on Directional hitting?

Im thinking Legend difficulty gives the CPU a smaller PCI+directional hitting means it stays right in the middle of the zone. Any pitch not in the middle is almost guaranteed weak contact. Im now testing all star and they seem to male contact outside the zone now and actually scoring runs... Is this a thing?

I don't have issues with the CPU making contact with pitches other than right down the middle on Legend difficulty.

The CPU will hit pitches anywhere in the zone and at times off the plate/out of the zone extremely hard.

Maybe a fluke game, im a month into my franchise with the red sox and did legend the entire month with around 5-7 cpu hits per game. Just tried a switch to all star mid-game and they have 7 hits in 3 innings right now. They just seem to square the ball at a much higher rate now.

Yeah I can't speak to PCI size on other levels aside from Legend as I have never pitched on those difficulty levels.

You may check the in-game strategy guide to see if it lists how the CPU PCI/hitting changes from lower to higher difficulties.
