What rating does the contact for a player have to be before you call them up. And whats average contact for mlb player 50?

Re: When to call up prospect
I'm not sure what the average Contact rating is, but some of the best hitters for average in the game have contact ratings of 75 or higher.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDE -
Re: When to call up prospect
I don't have a set standard on when to call up a prospect. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to ratings. If he's performing well in the minors then I'll move him along from level to level to see how he does. Perform well at AAA level in previous season then he'll likely crack the 40 man roster for next year to attend spring training. Even if he dominated in AA, then he may get a look in ST.
Its more of performance plus is there a spot for him to be on the major league roster, or at least the 40-man roster. Its more feel and an "educated" guess more than a thought out unwavering scientic equation.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: When to call up prospect
If I have a need for that prospects position because of injury or trade and his spot is on queue as next man up in my 40-man, then I bring him up regardless of his ratings. I just make sure I actually use him and don't let his ratings atrophy sitting on the bench doing nothing but shelling peanuts.T-BONE.

Re: When to call up prospect
I call mine up whenever I think they can improve my major league club and hold their own in the majors (positive WAR). As stated, I won't call them up unless they're in a "starting" role. I'm not going to call them up to play once a week or be in a mopup role.Comment
