    Classic pitching vs meter

hey guys this topic hasn’t been talk about in years. I see it was last talk about 2012. I use meter pitching for pitching but a friend said classic is more realistic. Does anyone here use classic? And if so what do you like about it?

I use classic and love it. Player ratings matter. All I can do is call the pitch and location. I can't control if he can actually hit that location.

        I use it as well.
It relies more on player attributes instead of my ability.
I also let the catcher call the pitch and location.

I too, prefer classic in my franchise. That makes it more realistic IMO. Really good pitchers pitch better than me controlling them. And really bad pitchers pitch worse than me controlling them.

Yeah, me too. I usually have pitching one step higher than batting. Currently all star/hof Luke you said. Usually a couple of months in I end up bumping to Hof/hof. So long as I’m playing consistently.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOI also think Pitch Meter is way more accurate as you said because player skill is involved. Preface this by saying that its your franchise you play how you want ? But playing franchise with Classic/Timed is the only way to maximise ratings affecting the game. Actually Manage Only is the best way but i digress

Same here brother. I have always pitched at least two skills levels above my hitting. I just can’t lay off the low breaking balls to save my life.

I personally use meter because I want my skill to have an effect on outcome as well, but with one caveat. I do have a rule that every single pitch has to be max effort thus making it hard to locate. On the bright side I also get realistic inning totals because my starters are almost burnt by the 6th

That really is the great thing about this game. They haven’t abandoned any hitting/pitching interface. Same with camera views. Everyone can tailor it to their preferences.

I actually like both and occassionally will switch back and forth between them during the season depening on what I feel like. I normally prefer meter, I like having some user input and I find Meter gives me the best balance so far between user input and player ratings.

                              Directional hitting (allstar)/Meter pitching (HOF).

As a couple of others have already mentioned, I prefer my skill to have an impact in pitching. If you've got great reaction time, it's definitely easier to dominate, but as I get older, and my reaction time decreases a bit, it's become a much more fun challenge.

I'll also second the clean screen comment by Knight (Aside from the meter, obviously). When hitting and pitching, playing without the strike zone, feedback, etc. really makes for a much more enjoyable game. The chase for the whole "perfect/perfect" feedback when hitting, and expecting every one to be a 600 ft. bomb to center field is hilarious (that's not how baseball works!), and must be incredibly frustrating for those who still use it.
