Performence issue (XSS)

I know XSS is not the best platform to play this game, but I can live up with it in the show 23 and 24, I'm fine with lower graphics and lower frame-rate, stuttering on the cutscene, only if the hitting and picthing are smooth.


In the show 25, pitching is very laggy and unbearable, especially in the night game. In the previous two, the framerate became unstable when there are runners on bases; in the show 25 the framerate even feels lower when bases are empty, almost impossible to catch the timing (I use meter pitching), relatively the hitting has been very stable.


I hope SDS can tweak this for XSS.(Did not see other related posts, am I the only one experiencing the same situation? or simply nobody is using XSS)

I just bought the game myself last night and let me tell you that you're not alone. I found a subreddit with many people on all different consoles having the exact same issue.

I’m in ps5 and framerate is like ps5 before ps4 pro came out…very poor. I turned off HDR and that has really helped. Also, dropping to 1080p with HDR is nice as well. 2160p with HDR is unplayable. Every other game runs smoothly for me with 2160p with HDR anling with resolution mode option on PS5…unsure why the show whose graphics are some of the worst in all the sports games runs worse. Pop in PBS…graphics are next level compared to the shows…that game runs extremely smooth.

Exactly this. In some stadiums its worse than others. I really hope they can patch this.
Can people with a ps5 pro say if it’s smooth over there?

Smooth as butter for me and I’m sensitive to the FPS drops

It’s definitely choppier on my XBSS than my XBSX. Not surprised since it’s a weaker platform, but I’d think they could drop the graphics a bit more to optimize it and make it smoother, or allow for the option to do so like they did on the PS4 pro version a few years back.

I'm on XBSS and game looks good and fun to play. I admit though it looks worse in some ways than 24 but the presentation upgrades and the gameplay was worth a purchase. Only thing that really bothers me is hair physics not being in. It's almost as if we got the upscaled "Xbox One version"

Forgot to mention getting rid of the blinding white backgrounds of 24 was worth an upgrade [emoji2962]

Dammit, haha if it doesn’t improve the first price drop and the pro is mine.

It was the only reason I bought one, 2K and the The Show are the only games I play and they both struggled for me last year

What pitching camera are y'all using? I've only noticed the slow down with people on base AND using any camera behind the pitcher (broadcast, outfield, etc.). When I switched to the same camera I use for hitting (Catcher Far), the performance issues disappeared.

Or are y'all seeing the slowdowns while hitting as well? Because I haven't noticed that.


EDIT: I just realized this thread is specific to XSS and I'm on PS5. Sorry for barging in . I'll see my way out.

I’ll also add that as someone with both an XBSS and XBSX, the game runs and looked drastically better on the XBSX (which I’ve tested on the same exact TV for a reference). It’s still solid on the XBSS, but if you do upgrade to an XBSX or PS5 Pro, you’ll notice a pretty big difference in clarity and FPS.

just like you described, it happened on those camera only. Tested hitting camera while pitching on few stadiums and it runs well, so I think it's the best workaround currently, thanks for the tip!

The game isn’t on PC because of rampant cheating in sports games these days and not having to worry about coming up with an anti-cheat. Also they can build to a specific set of systems rather than have to scale to allow for a wide range of PCs to be able to play.

As for this specific issue, mods have nothing to do with it and if anything would make this issue worse. Mods are used to upscale the graphics and the game. This issue is because the game is too powerful for the platform. So unless there is a mod to make the game look worse, it’s not going to fix anything.

This could be the case; however, from my time as a game developer doing graphics programming (years ago), the more likely culprit is that the textures aren't optimized. Skyrim had this problem and modders merely optimized the textures to improve performance.

Also, FWIW, hair is notoriously hard on graphics, which is why AMD went out of their way to develop TressFX to optimize the simulation of hair (and fur).
