    Hitting Thoughts in '25

What's up fellas! Was just curious to hear other player's thoughts on hitting in '25. Are you finding it easier, harder? What difficulty/method do you use?

I use analog flick timing on Hall of Fame+ and have suddenly been getting destroyed. Large amount of strikeouts and timing is abysmal, so thinking of swallowing my pride and moving down a notch in difficulty.

I feel like fastballs have more life as they approach the plate this year, which is causing me to be way early on off speed pitches.

Just curious if you guys are experiencing anything similar or maybe my old age is just catching up with me!

    Thanks Fellas

I think it is harder. I am playing All star directional batting (HOF) pitching,no slider changes so far.
I'm noticing sharper, later breaks that catch me completely off guard on breaking pitches, which is a good thing. I have games where I'm overmatched, and games where I hit good. It is a good balance so far.

Dynamic Difficulty but it seems like I'm moving up faster than normal. Hard to tell.

timing hitting, on HOF, and I'm finding it almost the same as last year, if anything, a bit too much power but could just be a hot streak.

This has been my experience exactly! Some of the breaks are crazy. Specifically sinkers, I feel like the movement is occurring later this year. I've enjoyed the challenge, wasn't sure if it was just me seeing this or not.

I don’t find it to be easier, or more difficult. What I do find is that it feels more reslistic, and produces more realistic outcomes. I personally love it.

Im on dynamic as well but I’m going in the wrong direction. Hahahaha.

Thought I would rise up to veteran + or all star and turn the dynamic difficulty slider down but nope. I went down to rookie + what the heck.

              Using directional.

All-Star is easier than Veteran for me at times because the PCI is smaller so I can actually find the sweet spot on the bat more. On Veteran I feel like it’s too big so I end up hitting deep flies or smoking it into the ground every time.

I play on Legend normally with GOAT pitching, but I use these for DD conquest and stuff like that since I’m trying to just play and get some stat challenges done instead of actually focusing on real baseball like I do for offline.

I find hitting horrible this year. Typically play on all star with power +1 and legend pitching with cpu power +1. This year had to drop pitching to HOF. Hitting wise i’m still on all star messing with some sliders because there is no offense in this game. Lack of home runs, a ton of “weak” contact. the ball feels dead. Not to mention the pitch speeds seem incredibly fast compared to last year. Much like others mentioned fastballs seem to be incredibly fast, breaking balls have insane break….its really not fun. Veteran is too easy, all star is way too hard. Anyone got slider ideas? I’ve messed with contact +1, timing +1, power +1 etc….nothing seems to do much. The lack of home runs really kill me.

I’d recommend starting on Veteran and using dynamic difficulty. This way you can get the sweet spot between both (something like Veteran+ or All-Star-). You’ll get better results then changing sliders, especially if you use the PCI to hit.

I use HOF pitching, but AS hitting...though my Dynamic difficulty hovers around AS+, occasionally getting to HOF.

Two days ago, my RTTS pitcher got the pitching Dynamic rating all the way up to Legend while still in the minors (I got called up to MLB a couple of games later), and I started wondering if I was accidentally using some exploit. Am I really just that good at pitching? Interface is Classic, by the way.

As an aside, I feel kind of guilty using a lower difficulty for hitting. Maybe it's because my Franchise file is the Marlins, and I had to face Paul Skenes on Opening Day on HOF, which is what made me lower it. Good lord, that man's arm is nuts. I hope he doesn't become another victim of the Tommy John epidemic. Velocity at all costs, baby!

Anyway, I wish there was another way to lock the difficulty at an in-between setting like AS+ without having to change a slider and thus lower your XP gains. That one slider should be exempt from the XP penalty, in my eyes. Changing the others I get, that penalizes exploits, but why the Dynamic difficulty slider too?

Started on All Star. Directional. Default sliders (except injuries). After 21 games I decided it was just a little too easy and not enough balls thrown by the CPU.

So I bumped up to HOF. After 21 games, it seemed much better. But I feel I’m a little off on my timing. The CPU is throwing many more balls which is great. And I swing at about 2/3 of them. LOL!

So I bumped up contact and timing by 1. One game in. First game seemed better. But we will see after another 20 games.

Hitting definately feels different this year. I only played RTTS pitcher for years and only started playing DD last year as a means to learn hitting. I took advantage of double XP this weekend to cruise through some Play vs CPU games on All-Star and bulk up some TA stats but struggled a bit to string hits together with a team of low/mid 80s cards. I'd get a hit and then ground into a double play or fly out after fly out. I had one inning with 3 straight batters flied out the same exact way to CF which really seemed like it was pre-determined.

I use timing hitting with a few tweaks here and there. I just dont have the hand-eye to use a moving pci.

I have played 20 games so far, and not a single home run...not one. I'm 15-5 and avg 5.3 runs a game. I'm stuck on Rookie+, it's embarrassing.

Finally broke down and I copied my settings over from 24 with again a few tweaks from Amour and his settings. We will see how it goes.

How was the offense for you on base all star? Any home runs? There’s almost no home runs for me on all star. Even with the power up +1. I think timing maybe the slider that unlocks better offense as a whole
