Two things. One, I dont see anything wrong with comparing Ambush to guess pitch but I would go further and say its an advanced better version of guess pitch.

Second, I dont see any reason it should be a fad. Theres no reason to remove it or guess pitch. Just keep it optional and let the individual decide if they want to use either or not.

Unless I’m missing something, guess pitch was not removed. I use it in the Show 25, in my franchise. In fact I don’t use ambush hitting at all. There is a feature to turn off or on guess pitch, just like there is for ambush hitting. Again, maybe I’m missing the point of this article.

It's not supposed to change the PCI if you guess right or wrong.

If you set an inside ambush, mover your PCI between inside and outside before you even have a pitch. The PCI gets bigger when it's inside the Ambush area, and smaller than your baseline PCI when it's NOT in the Ambush zone.

The idea is you set the Ambush if you think the pitch is coming inside, and if it does you also get the timing window buff.

If you set up inside BUT swing at a pitch outside, you have a tiny PCI and I assume shorter time window.

I never use it. I don't even remember that its a thing in the game.

I've used it basically in every at bat this year, online DD, offline DD, online versus, and offline Franchise mode. Helps me focus much better for some reason at the plate. Usually Ambush until I get 2 strikes, then just go without it..

I don’t use it often, but I do hope it stays as it’s a solid feature if used correctly. I just hope they bring back the option of selecting where you’d like to influence bunting too (either push or pull). I’d end up trying to do that and then realizing it was for ambush instead.
