The stamina this year

I find most starters this year struggle to just make it though 5 innings the stamina bar goes to yellow at about 65 pitches and goes red before it even gets to 80 pitches.

Even with stamina slider set to 8, the cpu is better this year with bp logic thank god, but this is leading to RP pitchers being burned out

I understand that most pitchers don’t go past 5 innings now in today’s game but stamina should not run out at 80 pitches (this is with an ace) and should. Run out by 100

Re: The stamina this year

I'm almost certain the reason the stamina runs out earlier in the game than IRL is because the way most people play, if the starters throw 100 plus pitches before hitting the yellow, nearly every one could do a complete game every time out. 60 or 70 pitches is going to get most people through 6 innings or so, which is about the limit for most starters now a days. Most people when they play don't throw outside of the strike zone intentionally ever. So pitch counts stay lower and they make the stamina run out quicker to counter that. I'd compare it to the clock going slightly faster in fighting games.

Sliders will go to ten, how'd that work out?

Re: The stamina this year

It depends on how many tough innings you have. If you are cruising through and getting everyone out easily and have high confidence, your stamina decreases slower. If you are going up some hits and/or walks and have tough innings, your stamina depletes faster.

Re: The stamina this year

100% agree this year. This years game is the first version I've really had to increase the starter stamina slider to at least 8. I was finding that too many starters with above average stamina, and even aces, were being pulled frequently middle of the 5th inning while pitching relatively well, and with a pitch count around 75- 80. But the stamina bar was approaching red.

On the flip side, I do appreciate that the bullpen logic has been significantly improved. I'm only seeing LRP being used when the situation truly calls for it. Before, they would come in to complete that 5th inning with the game still in reach. Not sure if the improved bullpen logic this year is somewhat of the culprit with the starters not lasting as long.

Re: The stamina this year

You really have to edit pitcher stamina attributes to solve this. I think it's fair to say any and all SP can reach 90-100 effective pitches irl. A stamina attribute of 85-95 would achieve that. Some SP in the game have a stamina attribute in the 60s and lower 70s.

It's a much easier fix than messing with the stamina slider.

Absolutely. And its good that durability ratings factor into whether or not you try to get 90 or more pitches out of different pitchers.
