Show me an example where this is the case. Assume we're at the "darkest" time of day.

Not sure if you know how ambient light works, or bias lighting. If it doesn't appear pitch black from inside the stadium, then there is a problem.

I know what he means, though. For example, PNC Park. If you play there at night, the city is quite a bit too dark. The street lights and building window lights would brighten it up a bit. Not too much, otherwise what you mentioned would come into play and become an issue. But everyone knows entire buildings are not lights out in a city once 8pm hits.

I think this will be highly improved on the PS4 to be honest. It was just a lighting constraint on PS3.

Not really.

That's my case, at least.

I see the building lights, but it certainly won't light up the sky. Not from inside the stadium, that is.

You sir, are correct. I googled a bunch of stadiums at night and the background sky was pretty black. I'm assuming the ps4 will produce the best possible lighting effects.

That's what I was saying. I know it won't (and shouldn't) light up the sky. But every building should not be pitch black. Even in that photo with the city as dark as it is you can still see lights on the buildings.

But yes, I think the PS4 will pull this off very nicely.

I, for one, would welcome our new cheesed-sky overlords.
