Digital vs. hard copy?
I live abroad, and I don't think I can handle waiting the few extra days to get a hard copy of the PS4 game via Aramex from the US. However, being Old, I have never downloaded a game digitally and am wondering if there's any difference in play quality, etc. If it's the same, obviously I'm going to get my Show on asap! Thanks.Tags: None -

Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
I would only Download Digital if the Disc copy wasnt available or maybe if the Digital was at a greatly reduced rate like $39.99 then the company saves and I save but other then $6 tax saving its not worth .
See I resell all my games and easily get $45 to $50 for my resale so for someone who never keeps outdated games and sells them before their value drops I would never buy digital as I would be throwing my $$$ on no resale and because sports games become obsolete in months .Last edited by THESHAMISASHAME; 04-01-2014, 08:08 AM.Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
Totally disagree, reselling is a ripoff especially at places like gamestop, and like you said sports game go down in value very fast. Devs only get money from new copies not used. There is no advantage for going physical. Why would you trade in the show in 2 months?
Gamestop/Funcoland resale welcome to 2014but theres a place called Feebay or CraigsList and I have been doing this forever so I only whined up losing $15 and then buy the game back later if I still enjoy it .
For example I love the Show but in a few months I get very bored by its game play so I sell it For $50 and then buy it back for $35 give or take though this year will be very different with the PS4 version meaning it will be a buyers market so I will be selling mine fast to upgrade to the PS4 system and The Show as Im really enjoying QC mode .
Its basic so I cant tell you anything else and no I dont need the few dollars but I dont let anyone piggy back off my money either .

I bought the digital version since I know I won't want to get rid of the show, but I almost always buy physical copies of games since, worst case scenario, I can get a few bucks back for them down the road.Comment

Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
I think i will be getting the digital version this year, depending on the price(if its $59). The game isn't being released in Australia and i can get US psn card's for about the same price as the disc version but the disc takes about 2 weeks to reach me with free/slow postage.Comment

Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
They play the same, so that's not an issue. You will have to download a big honking file so if your connection is bad or your bandwidth capped that's a concern. Obviously you can't resell a digital copy so if you do that then physical is probably your best bet.
Once it is downloaded though the only differences are A) you don't have to put in a disc for the digital copy and B) you can resell a physical copy.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

The money I get for a trade in is no better or higher then the taxes I save buying digital.Comment

Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
For me..
If I play it for >2 months - Digital
If I play it for <2 months - Hard Copy
Too easy to sell hard copies and get most of your money back. Games like Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed I buy hard copies since I know I'll beat them in 2-4 weeks and be done with them, then sell for $40-45. I could probably go digital with The Show and Madden since I play those almost all year 'round.Comment

Re: Digital vs. hard copy?
I almost always go Hard Copy.
For example...I recently beat Need for Speed and was sick of NBA 2k14. I traded both in for Infamous Second Son, which I got after trade in for .56 cents! I now beat Infamous and will trade in for $40 towards MLB the Show...Comment
