Financing is never a good deal. For the Bank is this perfect. Only thinks where you need financing if u study or buying a house. With your deal they made 26 $ more.

You did not read a single thing in this thread. There is no interest on that card for 18 months. You do not pay any extra then you would by buying it outright so long as you pay it within 18 months and do not miss payments.

I buy $3.25 sandwiches at Quick Chek on my credit cards. I pay the bill before there is any interest charge. IF you don't have the discipline to pay bills on time it might be best to go the cash only route. I would rather let the bank pay at the register.

Not sure calling it a stupid idea is warranted, at all.

I am very fortunate to have a credit card with a high limit, this allowed me to buy 2 PS4s and have them paid off before I was charged interest..

Credit cards are great when used correctly, and if you have great credit to have great cards, the benefits shine.

Not true.. The only incentive Best Buy has is the fact they pay $0 on credit charges when you use their credit card, hence the 0% interest rate.. It saves them money in operating costs.

Another point - if you don't have at least one credit card, it's very hard to get things like a car loan or a house mortgage. If the bank has no way to see how you handle credit, no way you'll get a loan

After seeing this thread a few days ago (and not having a PS4 yet) my 22 year old *** with not much credit history went out to Best Buy in search for this crazy deal.


What I found:
Must apply for Best Buy credit card and be accepted.
18 month finance with NO INTEREST


25 bucks a month for 18 months or 50 for 9 is such a great deal. I was jacked. Only one thing to do, apply.


DE - ****ING - NIED. I didn't get the card. It was a sad day at the Best Buy on Foothill Ave.

Even though I'm not big on financing store credit cards..one thing I learned a long time ago, my credit was good and then I got rid of my two credit cards..after a certain time my credit disappeared..you need to have some type of revolving credit or car/mortgage payments (in your name). Just remember, total credit used should be less than 25% of available..any more Experian and the like hate it..
