Balks

Even with balks on, you can balk every play. It has never made sense.

Balks

Yeah my experience is you only balk when you pitch extremely fast after you've selected your pitch. Even with a small pause before the pitcher comes to a halt it doesn't register as a balk while it actually is.

Re: Balks

There will only be a balk if you tend to try quick pitch your opponent.

If you turn balks on, yes you can balk every play. lol

Do you mean with balks off? If so, that would be interesting.

He means you can get away with balks. Take Henry Rodriguez, he takes a good five seconds to come set, but you can pitch at the two to three second mark, two full seconds before he comes set, and the game will not register a balk.

It only balks if you double tap the pitch button. As long as you don't double tap, the game won't balk.

I understand. I use analog so you really have to be quick for the umpires to call a balk. It should call it the "Quick Pitch" setting instead of "Balks". Reason being, one day they might have a game that actually calls a balk if you're not completely set, and that would be awesome.

Re: Balks

oh okay. I get what you mean now!

I noticed that in '13. Its like it doesnt care about all the extra body movement as long as their left foot is on the ground already lol

Jose Valverde comes to mind

Yeah..not sure why balk is not implemented this way especially since there is option to turn off balk.
