Re: Preloading the show?

A few more details added to the PS4 FAQ, with 1.70 out:

Quote:
How does the automatic pre-download work for my pre-ordered games on PS4?

Select PS4 games on PlayStation Store will be available for pre-order with automatic pre-download. When purchased, these games will appear in-store with a countdown timer until they’ll be ready to play. Up to several days before the game becomes available, the system will begin to download and install the game automatically and an icon for the game will be placed on your PS4’s home screen with a timer showing a countdown until the content is ready to play, so you can play as soon as the content releases.

No specifics, but "several days"....I'm guessing if it's not available by tomorrow, it won't be preloading at all.

Re: Preloading the show?

Just wondering does digital downloads play as fast as the actually copy of the disc?? I digitally downloaded NBA 2K14 and it sometimes takes awhile to load up..but I'm not sure how it is with the disc.

If it's the same speed and we can pre download it I may cancel my gamestop preorder and digitally download it

Its probably hard to know unless you have the same game in disc as digital. I do have NBA2K in disc and it's not quick.

Ok then I'm guessing NBA 2K just takes awhile, cause I digitally downloaded COD and runs good...if they do let you pre download The Show I'm going to cancel my gamestop and buy it digitally so I can play it at midnight and don't have to wait

You only see a timer if the game is reloaded already, Its a timer saying when it unlocks to play.
