Why is it that I cannot sign free agents in my franchise mode when I have sufficient funds? I receive an error saying that I "can no longer afford the contract offered to [player]". I have no pending offers out there and I have more than enough in funds to sign him.

I think it has to do with how many players you have. Just because you have 10 million for some reason you cant spend all that on one guy. -

There is a thread somewhere titled guide to the offseason that you should check out.
I'm fairly certain it has to do with your arbitration eligible players. Their salary is taken out of the budget you are seeing.Comment
