More difficult to catch routine fly outs in PS4 version?

Overall absolutely awesome game. My copy came for PS4 this week I love it!

Anyway I've failed to catch quite a few deep fly outs recently. In the past it's just a case of putting the outfielder on the shadowy thing to track the catch and hey presto. This year I feel the window seems really small and I've failed to catch quite a few, the ball just drops right by my outfielder and it hops over the wall for a double.

I've been having trouble too, it seems like on some of the balls the player gets behind it the starts wandering around the cursor and just drops it.

At least you guys are getting to the ball. I seem to misplay a fly ball once a game. I overrun it way too many times. I wish they had a practice mode for fielding so I could figure the d**n think out.

The main issue I have is that going laterally. Seems that I sometimes hit the stick in such a way that the initial reaction of my outfielder makes a semi-circle at first before I regain control. I've had to train myself to lighten the touch initially so I can stay in line with the ball. Kind of cost me a hit or two due to the sensitivity of the controller. Guess I'll keep fighin' it till I get right.

I find fielding to be really bad all over to be honest, sometimes animations are too slow causing an easy out to be a hit, outfielders are even worse, often getting stuck in the circle and lets the ball drop over or oin front of them, and are very slow to throw the ball in. Fielding needs to be totally redone imo.

In 7 games, I had 4 errors on OF players and a few with slow rollers to the pitcher. I hope it's just me getting used to controls as I hate losing a game because some PRO dropped a routine fly (not saying it doesn't ever happen)and they get to third or knock in a few runs.

Press the right stick and you will see where the ball is going to land so you can run in that direction and stay over the landing marker.

Yea i know that, just saying it seems my outfielder misses the catch a bit more often than previous versions.

I think the players momentum are an even bigger factor this year. So you can't make a 180 degrees turn on the fly.

I lost a game yesterday because of it. Two outs and a runner on first up by one. Dude hits the ball and I get Mike Trout right where it's going to land. He acted like he lost it in the sun and they got a walkoff inside the parker...

There is going to be an acclamation period because things have changed. The ring circumference where the animation takes over is much smaller plus you can pull yourself out of it easier, I think that is why there some last minute drops. Add in player momentum and a more dynamic indicator and you have added challenge. Everyone wanted a more interactive experience in the outfield and we got it!
