Training In Franchise

It says that if you don't train a player his attributes can decrease. I'm controlling all teams as far as transactions (trades and releases). I let the CPU set their lineups/rotations and send up/down. I don't set injuries. I'm doing everything myself for my team.

So do I have to set training for every player on every team? Is there a way I'm not seeing to have the CPU control everything on the other 29 teams besides trades and releases?

Good question I would like to know too. In all my years playing the show never really messed with training. Still early in my season so if it makes a differnce guess I need to start training

Re: Training In Franchise

Fairly sure you can set auto for training in the mode management section or whatever its called for that profile that youre using for the other 29 teams. I dont even do training for my own team and when I go and look at the training area on the game it has everything working and says auto next to each player as well as what training they are working on. Im not by the game so apologies for not getting 100% specific but Im pretty sure it will do it on its own for you.

I dunno, I feel like training doesn't really....work, so to speak. I'll have guys training on batting cages for weeks on end and their contact numbers never increase....

Re: Training In Franchise

Ive wondered too about the training screen. Mine are all on AUTO, but there are some guys that have like -1 above certain attributes. So I have moved the training to correspond with that.

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

Okay

Back on point. In regards to player stat decreases even while training. I think what happens is if the players overall exceeds their potential rating the game starts to balance the two out. By doing so it decreases certain attributes regardless of what you train.

Also it usually takes at least a month for training to take effect. I personally let the computer handle most of my training when it comes to the low level prospects and MLB vets. I handle all of my own training for prospects B potential and above as well as my MLB players under 30.

I always felt like manually dealing with TRAINING and SCOUTING just made the game far too easy.
