Simulated ERA's Out Of Control...

Simulating years in Franchise Mode to see how simulation stats bear out.

By 2020, pitching and batting have zoomed to opposite spectrums.

A staggering 25 starting pitchers have ERA's under 3. Strikeouts are also up, with 25 guys having 230+ K's per year (two have over 300!).

In terms of batting, only 6 guys are hitting .300 or more, which is also a significant dip. The good news is that RBI totals and power numbers (as well as steals) seem pretty well in place.

I began to notice this trend around 2016 in my simulation, and it only increased year by year.

Are there any sliders which might normalize these stats?

what was 2019 like? 2021? One year doesnt really mean anything.

Sorry, you're right that my post was incomplete.

I started noticing these trends as soon as 2016. However, they were somewhat minor and so I didn't make much of them.

The trend increased in 2017, and that's when I knew I ought to track it.

Through 2018 and 2019, the ballooning continued, and the numbers I mentioned in my OP were pretty much similar in these years.

And 2020 was the year referenced in my OP.

I've noticed it as well. After a few years in franchise there were like 8 or 9 pitchers with over 250 K's. (250-280)

I'll be interested to see if this "logic" rears its ugly head when importing our franchises into future iterations of the game.

Imagine playing MLB The Show 17 and seeing 20+ pitchers with 250-280k's. :P

Since you've simmed several seasons, have you noticed whether Interleague schedules rotate or do you get the same Interleague opponents every year?

Is it due to inflated potential? See if lowering guys' potential slows the rate that they progress. It sounds like a problem with pitchers' potential being too high, thus leading to crazy ratings.
