I don't see any icons next to the runners, so the information up above isn't helping me any.

Once I figure this out I should be good to go for awhile on these controls.
Push the left stick in the direction of the guy on first, his icon (a little orange circle) should "pulse" to signify that he is selected, then I think you press L2 (or hold and release L2 to pick exactly he goes).

Edit: Ninja'd, I guess there's two options on the table.

Thanks, I've looked at that but some of it is a little confusing for someone with a tiny brain like myself.

I mean, I've pushed the left stick towards the guy on first before and nothing happens besides the PCI moving. I must be missing something. I just need more time on the baserunning front, I guess.

The digital manual that comes with the game is pretty handy too, it's actually specific to PS4 as well.

Yeah, when I move the left stick toward the runner on first, the PCI moves, which makes me wonder if I've selected anything. But I haven't been watching the mini-diagram of the bases. I'll try again.

Re: A Guide to Steal & Baserunning

baserunning is killing me on this game.

No idea what to do.

Bases loaded and a flyout. Want the guy on 3rd to tag. What do I press and when?

left stick to the left to highlight runner on 3rd (his yellow dot will begin to flash/pulse) press X

Done.

Default base running is very easy once you actually know what your doing.

Last night I had first and second, deep fly ball to center pressed R1 to return all...waited for the catch, held down L1 to send both runners to tag up.

I did have a quirk last night though....ticked me off. I had 1st and 3rd and no outs. I ripped a gap double but before I hit it I sent my runner from first on a designed hit and run....once I hit the ball I knew it was going to get into the gap for extra bases so I highlighted my runne heading to second to go home....as he rounded second he stopped and started heading back.....I was flipping out LOL.

This has happened a few times now. Some wonky control issues on 14 that are rearing their ugly head here and there. Along with check swings...that has all of a sudden become a bit wonky. I really really hope a second patch for PS3 is in the works to address some of these control issues as well as the ultra sensitive check swings this year.
