Is there an optimum speed for breaking pitches?

Is fastest velocity always best or something? I usually like to keep my breaking balls a bit slower for more movement, however, when I do that the CPU seems to crush them even low in the zone. Also, Ive noticed that when I keep those pitches slower, on the pre-pitch selection, their confidence meter (blue bar) are always drastically lower than my 4-seam FB.

Was just wondering if there was an optimum speed for my Slider, 12-6, or Forkball.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Is there an optimum speed for breaking pitches?

Confidence on breaking balls will typically be lower because that affects control andif you can control your curve ball better than your FB you have a problem.

If the computer crushes them it is probably due to one of the following:
1. Caught too much of the zone
2. Throwing it too much
3. Did not set it up.

As for speeds, I am not sure. I think it depends on the speed of your FB. I like a slider to be in the upper 80's while my curve is in the lower 70s.

4SFB 95
2SFB 92
slider 88
change 81
curve 74

I've wondered this before too, because you would think the bigger the discrepancy in speed between your fastball and your changeup the better, but the game seems to think that a 100mph fastball/90mph changeup is better than say a 100mph fastball/68mph changeup, which would give me a lot more problems at the plate lol.

The more effort you put behind breaking pitches the more they will break. So if you are serving up soft ones the CPU will definitely crush them.
